Hyperventila Ships Painter
@bitkar Yeah, that's pretty much what I was going for
Here is an update with some of the latest updates in Hyperventila:
New Planet Graphics
Made in Blender, these are procedurally generated through my own node set-up.
Bio Lab
A research lab for one of the side-quests in the demo.
Ship Painter
Are you just a big a fan of customization as I am? Well then you're in luck because along with planned mod support, here is an in-game ship painter that will make your ship look just as dark or funky as you like.

This is all great work Mikom. A sci-fi TV series and movies with these designs would be great. I'm not much of a gamer but I might try this when it is ready. Will you earn money from the game?

Re: Hyperventila Ships & Stations & More
Thanks Finis! Yeah a TV show would be great as well. I'll be putting it on Steam, Humblebundle and maybe Good old Games.com. But first I may have to try running a Kickstarter in order to keep development up for the rest of the year. It should be done by September.

Hyperventila: Imperial Dropship
A dropship used by the Cespian Space Empire faction.

Not the best material set up for these beauty renders I know but I'm kinda in a hurry to get these into the game

Re: Hyperventila Ships & Stations & More
Another good one! I like the rough, corroded, eroded areas. It is like the first Star Wars where stuff looked used and dirty. Your designs have practical features good for the purpose of the ship or equipment too. Does each faction have a style or look for its ships, stations, colonies, etc.? If a player sees a ship can he determine from its design "that's probably a Cespian ship"?

Thanks Finis! Yes, the Cespian ships are inspired by dragonflies, butterflies and flying fish. (more or less anyway) Whereas the Lander/Coalition ships are more rugged, inspired by containers, cars and trucks. The Echron ships (like the Cruiser above) will be more sleek and aerodynamic, looking like birds and aeroplanes.
The pirate ships while be more of a mash-up of all of those.
I haven't come up with any designs for the Praat species, they should also get their own ship designs at some point.
Another thing that should help with ship identification are the faction logos which I haven't gotten round to designing yet.
All while still keeping that classic sci-fi look of course

Yeah! The demo went live on Steam for the Steam summer festival but it was a bit of a shaky launch to say the least. Now I'm working on setting up an IndieGoGo campaign to see if I can secure funding for the coming 6 months of development.
I may also be moving soon to Italy but that's somewhat unrelated, although it will impact development...

Hyperventila - Mark I Escape Pod
The standard Mark I escape pod. This will reliably get you to the nearest shipyard, eventually...
It has been a while since I made this little thing, originally just a collectible object that would spawn randomly in the game, it became the first object that worked with the lighting engine and is now a playable ship, so I figured it deserved a render.

Hyperventila - Mark III Shuttle
Today I would like to present the Donner Industries MK III Transport Shuttle.
The Mark III is your go-to ship for pirates and smugglers.
A bit of a quick design in trueSpace & Blender for the game since it needs more NPC ships.

@draise It's old Coalition tech and their ships were never really going for looks in the first place. Imperial ships or Echron ships tend to look better.

Hyperventila - Huntress Crossbow
A strange addition to Hyperventila, a relic really. This is the Huntress crossbow. A weapon used by one of the time traveling mages in the game.
This is a bit of a speed model as I didn't really know how it would end up looking in the game anyway. It actually is quite fun to use in-game.

Hyperventila Ships & Stations & More
Updated the renders for the Duatron Looper bike. It's an older model and design but it's one of my favourite vehicles in the game so I decided to give it a new render.
Here are also some other ships from the game I designed since my last update to this thread, in no particular order.
PFR-1 Space Bug:
PJ-400 Space Barge:
ZL-70 Personal Shuttle:
Oh and I decided to make a little animation with the Hover Patrol Car.

It's kind of animated already to achieve the motion blur, I was thinking of rendering the whole animation but even just one frame took a lot longer than expected so that's a project that'll have to wait until I have a bit more time.Finis wrote: 28 Aug 2021, 00:19 How about an animation with the Looper bike?
