First time here. New to TS (using 7.61). Have been watching the tutorial videos on Caligari's site (ie Organic Workspace Modeling, etc)
I do my modeling in AC3D. I export it as a .x file. And then imported it into TS to use it in an animation using the following procedure...
Right click a library in the stack and select "Import".
From the newly opened dialog window, choose my model that I exported from AC3D, "ring.x"
I get an icon in the library that has it's correct name and file size. The icon itself is the blue dot with the yellow x in it that we're all familiar with. The problem is that I can't put it in my scene. Drag it to the scene and nothing. Drag it to the link editor and nothing.
Troubleshooting thus far...
Opened model just fine in Blender.
Opened model just fine in Ultimate Unwrap3D Pro
Created a primitive in AC3D (cube) and exported it as a .x, but same results as "ring.x".
Is there something I'm missing?

Re: Problems importing direct x model
You can Load it from the Model's File menu or you can add an Import button to Workspace's File menu here:

Re: Problems importing direct x model
TS's UI isn't very intuitive for me. It's going to take some time to find everything. I am assuming that the "Model's File Menu" is what I see when I right click the icon that it adds to my library. I'm given the option to Load, Rename, Insert, etc. If that's the case, then it doesn't work.
I read the other thread. Not sure where the "bridge" is in order to set it to "on". I am assuming that it is set to something other than on though, as I have added the import object from the link editor to the file menu...

Re: Problems importing direct x model
Do you have the tS761 version with Model and Workspace or the Workspace only version?

Re: Problems importing direct x model
I went to the download page on Caligari's site... Apparently I only have the workspace.
Any other suggestions?

Re: Problems importing direct x model
Many thanks for the links and good info. Also testing DAZ3D as well at the moment. Need to find out which app I can work more efficiently in...
