Re: MMC November 2009 Robots-Comments
I thought Robots would be a fun subject because all experience levels
could join in.
The Robot could be as simple as a cube (darn, I gave away my idea!
) or
as complex as a humanoid shaped gadget of the future.
You'll all be happy to know I used the "Idea" thread to come up with this Challenge. So who ever thought of this idea, Thanks!
Lets have some Fun!

No ideas. I shouldn't spend time on this (or on making senseless forum posts) now anyway due to real world stuff. If I get an idea that can be done quickly though ...

WIP : vi ... f=5&t=1064"
Background story: a century ago, robots was mass produced to serve humans and took over all hazardous work, now they are in need of dwindling resources and robots fight for it on new frontier...
Setting: what I have in mind is a massive scene with mammoth mining robots harvesting resources and a host of support and protection bots protecting them and slugging it out while the behemoths labour away and repair bots fix them as they get damaged...

JamesMc was a surprise entry and a surprise subject!!! I have a funny story about that thing, no details, lets just say I was young, in Europe, and thought it was a Soda cooler next to the bed...

Nice one! I had thought about a laptop and phone lying around in the SMC, but my tS speed skills are a little slower now with lack of practice, and I ran out of time.jamesmc wrote:Optional IPOD Docking station for ROBIDET.

Re: MMC November 2009 Robots-Comments
I actually did a second but its only a 3rd TS (the robot) the rest is retextured and messed with Daz/poser stuff, it started life as the album art from Appetite for Destruction; Guns n Roses, but quickly realised I couldn't do the creature
the robot sucks.. well its not what I wanted lol, I welded its neck to the head and shoulders by accident so it was impossible to pose, so I rushed/lost interest with the rest

thought about adding smoke but couldn't get it right so well (see the dust behind the two smaller bots in the front?)... saw a great image of one of the space shuttle launches but I couldn't find that post I saved to see how it was done :(
have you got a nice smoke effect you use?

What WONDERFUL entries you guys made! Variety and beautiful renders!
Great job everybody!
I by accident only picked one before I hit the button. Since I can vote 3, can I reset?
These entries deserve at least my other two votes. They've all done a great job. I want to vote more!

Ok, can I/how can I start over? I know who I wanted to vote for, so I won't cheat. Just want to give these folks all they can get. They've done real worthy work.

Re: MMC November 2009 Robots-Comments
About Dragneye's votes. Two unorthodox solutons:
1. Dragneye could just post in the poll thread who his other two votes are for and the winner will be determined by the poll votes plus the posted votes. No one here is going to get mad about who votes for who so a secret ballot isn't really necessary.
2. Dragneye could PM Steinie who his other two votes are for. We would all understand that Steinie will announce the final vote totals for each contestant including the PM'ed votes. This is good if Dragneye prefers not to have his vote recipients publicly known. No, wait, that wouldn't work for privacy since we would know that the votes not on the poll are Dragneye's. Oh well, option 1 then.
Dragneye, I think Steinie means that the whole poll would have to be restarted not that you would have to restart.

No not right for the poll to restart.
Be right back (I don't care about the count. I had picked my two already. No offense to Anyone, but I'm allowed to like what I like
My first choice was theuns
I like Karthogen's idea, and there's a special interest in nigecs entry (I really like Robot Wars show myself and I think your killer disc idea is the best design to win it all
), Steinie, you the man for me (thanx for teaching me to ... lighten up; but you runnin' the show, ya know), and well tahnoak, I am definitely incorporating your idea in my future designs
, my other choices were,
The other two are jamesmc and Finis
So dats dat, let's move on
Have a Wonderful Happy Thanksgiving all and to our international art cohorts... it's a day to, just give Thanks.

yeah I didn't realise you could vote for three either (I never read the instructions!)
no worries though, the way the poll is, my other two choices wouldn't of changed things
