U3DA Challenge - October - Primitive 'mation competition!
Animation time! This time around we are going to do something different. With Clinton's new tools for animation in TS 7.61 beta 8 and other great animation tools out there, we are going to compete bringing to life a basic primitive of your choice.
Make a cube bounce around. Make a sphere scare a cone. Make a torus roll around then jump happily. Make a polyhedron fall in love with a three point pyramid.
Take this as an opportunity to try out new animation tools, methods and animation techniques. Don't forget to include squash and stretch, anticipation, emphasis, ease in and ease out, or even just plain stopmotion styles in 3D. Have fun, make it creative.
The Rules:
1) Use any software of choice.
2) Only one entry per contestant
3) Animation must have a minimum of 10 seconds or 300 frames.
4) Post your entry in this thread under the following conditions:
- Final output size must at least be 640x480 to a size of 1920x1080.
- Video must be posted to Youtube
- Entry must contain a screen capture and a title with a youtube link/embedded preview.
5) Other conditions:
- Final Render is optional, but animatics (realtime previews) will still qualify
- Separate WIP thread optional but highly recommended
- Prefab, purchased or procedural models and props are allowed, including animation rigs and sets.
Dates and Deadlines:
The challenge begins now -October 06, 2013 and ends on October 28, 2013 at midnight in your location.
The poll will start on October 29, 2013 and end on November 2, 2013. (now December 3 - 6)
If the competition activity is low (1 or 2 contestants) the competition will include an extra month.
Organization:
-Main Contest Thread. This thread, is reserved for the theme, rules and the posting by contestants of entries.
-Comments Thread. A thread for general discussion will be created for this challenge.
-Poll Thread. A poll thread will appear on the day specified above
Prize
