This is different and exciting!
I certainly plan on experimenting with this Challenge. Can you post the link to Clinton's latest tools for us?

Frank would be awesome in this one!...

Great! I'm glad you find this one exciting. I had my coworker learn how to animate basics using some primitives, and he redid the Pixar short with the father lamp and baby lamp and the "ball" drama, except with cubes. It worked out really well, and he knew nothing of animation to doing a whole minute of fun animation with just primitives coming alive. I think it's a safe and fun way to learn some animation basics, making something come "alive".

Here are Clinton's plugins for trueSpace:

Clinton's animation tool LINK

As of recently, he added an autokeyframer for the WS side and a Fcurve or AnimationCurve interpolator, which I think is genious.

I can see using bezier or step curves for some interesting claymation style 3D animation.

Ok, gotta go for now.

Good theme Draise! I've got an idea for an entry.

Using basic primitives reminds me of Mr3D. He made some great things using just primitives.

Finished - No WIP needed. Primitives have no talent as shown by my entry, so they get little respect from me!

Hollywood Audition of a Primitive

Primitives are stubborn and stupid. They have this attitude that since they make up the constituents of many 3D animated characters they can perform all by themselves.

Well, it's like putting lipstick on a pig and no one is going to smooch on that porcine face.

'm lovin' the many WIP's! This competition will be fierce! I also like the inspirations and ideas and concepts, and the first contestant with the rebellious polygon doing it's own thing!

Looking forward to the final results.

Keep it up guys! ;) :)

Just started my wip thread. I hope you decide to extend this another month. Even small animations take some time. This is a cool idea and can't wait to see what all the talent here does.

Hmmm.. I think that can be reasonable. Let's give this another week before I make the final verdict of extending the competition a month.

But I think it reasonable, I do want to see some finished entries.

Keep up the good work! :D

I like that Psy one James! It has style.

Draise, the rules call for a screen shot. Does the embedded Youtube thing count or does that mean a separate image?

I think the screen shot is to take place of the embedding if necessary. Everything's all good!

The deadline is coming up!

Try crunch the animating those who have other wip's or plan to compete; we have 3 contestants and according to the rules, we will have to end the entries soon!

Edit:

I would like to propose a poll for another month of competition with this theme and a second chance for another entregue those who have competed if you guys think it worth the fun?

This would include a runner up prize of which you could will win a glow in the dark Alkathosk tree model for ts 7.61beta8!

I have updated the entry thread and the vote thread. Technically, by the rules, you can only compete once. So Jamesmc has to... choose which one he likes the most (albeit both are great!) I did give the option in the poll to continue a vote with both his entries, or to give the competition till the 28th of November for more entries. I saw 1 or two other good WIP's out there, so those could be entered in a relaxed mannor.

Participate and do let us know how this game will go - and to whom the prize goes to!

Cheers,

Um..... that doesn't sound good. I didn't mean to offend you..

Please do continue to participate, both entries are excellent, and I hope you understand that having one entry is to help others have a fair chance in the vote if they only participate with one entry over two.

With all respect, I didn't mean to disown your work or animations, which both are great. Pardon my obnoxiousness in that regard. I am sure we all would love to keep you in the competition. I hope you do continue to play in the game.

Now the competition has extended another month, with the extension of prizes. Second place will also earn a model created by me, compliments of the Project Alkathosk.

JamesMC, please don't retract from the competition, sorry about being nit-picky about the rules.

I am sure none of us here will mind them both in the vote, sorry for not being clear in the competition rules. Both your animations are great and I promote them and encourage them both fully.

If you want to know what set me off, it was way the vote was presented

It vote for that jerk jamesmc with two entries or wait until the 28th November.

Which in fact was disturbing as there was another entrant besides me in the contest.

So there it was, giving people a choice. Vote for extending the contest or vote for the rule breaker, the guy that screwed things up and the evil creator of poorly made primitive animations.

It's like the old lawyer conundrum in court,

"When did you stop beating your wife?"

Doesn't matter if it paints the witness in a bad light, it served the purpose of the attorney who want to put the witness as one of unworthy character.

And the answer of putting my animations back?

NO

They are deleted on my computer and on YouTube.

Pardon me for not having the foresight of triggering those kinds of thoughts with how I did things. I am not culturally aware of things sometimes..

If there was any way I could fix that, I would. I have changed everything I could now.

Sorry about you loosing your animations, they both were a lot of fun.

Hope you have a better time with everything in the forums next time.

Hey this is all for fun, so lets keep it fun. No one should feel bad about this.
I certainly would like to enter if I can get an entry together. The weather has been nice outside
and I would rather striper fish (yes it is a fish not the glorious Lotta Teeth) this time of year. So extending the
contest helps us slow pokes. :bananacheers:
Also I know James can kick out another gem if the inspiration hits him. :bananatyping:

Not metaballs.

Seppgirty: To embed a Youtube video in a post use just the code part (from the share tab with playlist off: youtu.be/HdGD1oACcB8 or from the URL: youtube.com/watch?v=HdGD1oACcB8). Put the code in a post, highlight and click the youtube button in the post controls to get this:
