You are correct, we are causing the damage but also the planet does run on a Cycle as well. If you look at history, from way back when. However many million years ago, the polar caps were melted and a lot more than 2/3rds the planet was under water. Then after volcanic eruptions and the natral changes, we went to an ice age that froze parts of the oceans and freed up more land for animals. Since then there have been mini ice ages, and mini heat waves, but the only problem is they do not have any data to support why, from that far back.
So the climatalogist are trying to study recent data to determine how it will impact the earth going forward. they do not have enough data yet to really prove a point. But, Everyone knows it is true, they just don't want to beleive because it will cost them money.

UN climate change conference 2009 petition for a fair outcome : http://www.sealthedeal2009.org/"
Qoute from site 'about' section :
"...The United Nations has launched “Seal the Deal” campaign that encourages users to sign an online, global petition which will be presented by civil society to governments of the world.
The petition will serve as a reminder that our leaders must negotiate a fair, balanced and effective agreement in Copenhagen, and that they must seal a deal to power green growth, protect our planet and build a more sustainable, prosperous global economy that will benefit all nations and people..."

I'm maybee seems nagging. I went to shop today to buy groceries. When I had the possibilities to by Fairtrade I did it. Perhaps a small thing to do but look at this link http://www.fairtrade.net/films.html?&L=title%3DOpens. The products are expensier than the products from the big companies but I believe it make the difference for the producers. If everyone buy these products the people who produce it will have the possibilities to get a fair living standard.
