MMC 2010-04/05 "living in the sky"

The challenge theme is "living in the sky"...

So you could have people living on :
huge air balloon clusters...
or massive glider planes that never land...
or gigantic solar powered helicopters/jets that harvest clouds to make hydrogen fuel so they don't have to land...
or perhaps floating garden islands with gas sacks to float...
or flying/soaring/gliding creatures/insects living in the sky...

Basic Rules:
1) Use your own work. No pre-made purchased or free models, please. Only exception is trees and plants. The idea is to show how you are working and what technics you use.
2) Start a Work In Progress Thread (WIP) for your submission. There is no limit as to how many separate art work WIPs you desire to create!
3) Final image submissions should be no larger than 800 x 600 in dimensions. A link to your WIP is also suggested (even though I'm sure that most people are viewing them during your creative process)...A WIP is a fun and entertaining place to be !!!
5) You can use any 3d program that you have a license for. Post processing with a Paint Program to enhance lighting or environment presentation is fine.

Deadline:
-This Month's competition will start 2nd April and will continue until June 24th at midnight GMT.
-Voting Poll will end on June 30th at Midnight GMT.
-The Winner will be announced 1st July.

The Winner’s art work then gets the privilege of being in the MMC Winner's Gallery and also has the honor of picking a topic and hosting next month's MMC.

If the Winner from the previous Month receives the most votes in this Challenge the second place winner will become the new Host for next Month.

Most of all "Have Fun" and show us how you do it!

Do you guys want us to extend it? Do you want to take the next one rjef?

I'd like to because I haven't finished mine but it doesn't really matter since I can't really enter...

I haven't closed it off yet...

Sure you can extend it. There are several people who have wips going. I would hate to cut them out.
