Import Export
So what is the main advantage to the import export plugins that are posted, or for sale? I have not tried it yet but in workspace if i got to the library it will alow me to insert as DAE and X, and I would assume this would work since it is showing available. what do the plugins do that the system can not.

Re: Import Export
Hi Karthogen.
DAE is Collada format. X is .X format. OBJ is another standard file format.
Models are in several formats. Say you want a spaceship model, but it is in OBJ format, and not X or DAE format.
You have to import it into truespace using one of the available OBJ importer plugins. You can do it from the Model
side using TS, or LUUV, or now, you can use one of the available Workspace OBJ Importers.

Re: Import Export
There are three groups of people using trueSpace:
1) The first group loves the Model side so they would use Luuv to import/export OBJ models. (This plug in is already included with trueSpace)
2) The second group loves the workSpace side, they might also use the new "7.61 workSpace Standalone Beta"
so they would use Frootee's new OBJ Importer. (since the Luuv importer is no longer available)
Also for the "Standard" 7.61 version trueSpace user, they no longer have to
cross the bridge Importing an Obj model, speeding up their work-flow.
No conversion problems, no messed up scenes,
no material problems, no bridge problems are benefits to using Frootee's OBJ Importer. (It is cheap and works great!)
3) The third group uses both sides and having the ability to import an OBJ from both sides would be a speed enhancement.

Re: Import Export
Thank you for the clarification on that one. So what systems put out the Obj format that I would need to import?

Re: Import Export
A lot of the models off turbosquid are obj, typically you would export OBJ from Poser also the BVH or rig it yourself in TS, DAE is usually a bit more standardized than X file export from TS, but for both it really depends what app your exporting to, some work fist time others don't, but that applies to most 3D software.
