OK, so my plans to use tS during the holidays collapsed due to having to shift holidays at the last minute to cope with work deadline and a promise I made to help my youngest daughter to help her start painting with oils. She had to be content with acrylics. So using our new studio (room in the cellar/basement) I tried to help her and it gave me a chance to try watercolours again. I did a couple of sketches on holiday and then attempted a painting whilst my daughter was trying to break the family tradition of watercolours which has passed down the generations.
First, the sketch, on holiday in the Scottish Highlands (Loch Tay).
And second, having warmed up a painting of a local view, done from a phone photo I snatched whilst my daughter and friends were doing high g roller coasters....

Thanks Froo....it was a five year gap and with all Art and watercolour especially, I find I go backwards quite a long way in the skill level...but its fun, anyway,

i wish i could paint like that :)

I liked very much that impressionist style, I couldn't even paint 10% of that

The second picture with the castle we are giving to a friend who wanted a memory of us and the city as she leaves and this is the one she chose. I never make any money with my paintings, but people do seem to appreciate them as gifts which makes it very worthwhile keeping on...

I was helped at lot to make progress with painting by 1) books that tell you step by step how a picture is built up and 2) A night school class. Its never to late to start and if you'd seen my first attempts u might get confidence to try yourselves

Now I have agreed to do another review for work (which will have at least one 3D illustration) so I get to create time for trueSpace again .

I can appreciate that it is so much more personal and unique.

For Christmas 2009 my Mum, a professional picture framer, made for us an Otis Reading vinyl single in a box frame with the lyrics and a picture of him in the background. We had a son start of November and named him Otis. The gift is unique (only one in the world) and is beautifully done and when I took it out of the package my jaw dropped and my wife was like 'what? WHAT??'...cool moment

I have wacom cintiq lcd tablet at work. I tryied to learn something, tryied to paint some portraits, but its tough :) it looked like from a 10yrs old kid :D . I learned to paint eyes quite well only.

btw: i recomend to buy some tablet LCD, digital painting is really cool thing.
