Feb MMC
I really don't have a title for it, but I have started on it. Maybe I can actually finish this one.

Re: Feb MMC
Well I did this in Bryce. What I did was take a rock wall texture and made the rocks high and the grout lower. I used two different gray colors on it. Then I went into Bryce and loaded up a mountain mesh and then went into the editor and loaded the bump of the rock wall. So now you have a nicley rocked wall. Lastly I just applied the rock wall texture on it and since I used that texture to define my bump the rocks texture matches the rock bump. Bryce does displacement very well and easily.

Re: Feb MMC
Bryce? WOW! Never tried to do modeling in Bryce before, I bought Bryce 6.3 the other day so I'll give some basic modeling a try as well. The texturing really looks great...

Re: Feb MMC
I will have a mixture of modeling. I used Bryce for the building. I will use TS for all the objects that will populate the room. Bryce does not have as strong a modeler as TS does for the small details.

Re: Feb MMC
I like the picture from sunday the 21th of february more. It has some stuff in it that brings my imiganation up with all the things. Who is the person who uses this place with these things? Is he a garderner or something. I miss this point in the last picture.
This is only my thoughts and in all I think you have done a excellent job with the idea and textures.

Re: Feb MMC
I like the addition of the workbench. Agree with Tommy that it needs more stuff but you noted that you will add that. I liked the more colorful approach in the Feb. 21 picture. This is kind of monotone.

Re: Feb MMC
I can think of a couple details you might add.
For the water heater:
Shutoff valve on the inlet side.
Boiler drain on the bottom.
Gas or electrical supply line.
(the furnace needs one as well; with associated switch or shutoff valve)
If it's a gas water heater, then it needs an exhaust hood/pipe.
Pressure relief valve and downleg piping.
(you don't want that thing exploding, haven't you seen Mythbusters?!)
Code also requires an water heater overflow pan.
A floor drain is a good place to aim the overflow pan drainpipe.
The furnace appears to be venting exhaust directing into the air ducts, might want to get that checked out.
Bring back the window (maybe it's just the angle but I don't see it in the latest image).
Keep the clutter (pots, boxes, etc, and add even more.)

This is looking really great, but I must agree with Finis about the earlier image looking a lot better. Keep up the good work,

Re: Feb MMC
Hey rjeff, looking great. You know how I love those interior scenes. I am going to jump on the bandwagon and say that I like the lighting in the newer version better than the other but for overall context of the scene I prefer the 21 Feb version. There is a lot more going on and it gives the feel of a space that is used on occasion. Maybe this guy is like me and gets into projects but for whatever reason is unable (or unwilling in some cases
) to finish them.
Just picky stuff. Looks great!!
