I am having real trouble loading a scene in tS. I can work on it for hours but when I come back the next day (or later same day) to open it it crashes tS. I have tried loading the .bak file but it just hangs at loading scene.
It is only 22mb, contains no weird geometry (AFAIK) and none of the usual suspects: bridge, vray etc. Just a LW file that uses a few simbiont textures and basic lights. Not trying to run in DX mode or with the bridge turned on.
No idea but it is for a client and really need to open it. Any suggestions?

Re: Constant crash loading scene.
One idea that came to mind is to try loading the scene on another computer running trueSpace.
This might tell you where the problem is.

Not sure if it was a simbiont texture or not, but there was a green glass type texture I played with,
on Model side, that took For-ever to render. Maybe that same texture is being used? Or, another texture is causing the problem? Perhaps because there is a bug/problem with the texture definition itself.

Re: Constant crash loading scene.
Finally got it to load...had to change the viewpoint in both windows to a top down view and zoom out. Weird eh?
Thanks for the advice guys.

Re: Constant crash loading scene.
I know when i select a cam then open a cam windows with solid mode, TS can crash. what i do to avoid the crash is:
-open a perspective view
-select a wireframe mode for this view.
-select the cam
-change the perspective view to a cam view
-now i can change to solid mode on the cam view.
I had this problem with different computer/XP and Vista/Nvidia and Ati. It is why i am sure that is a bug of TS.
since i do what i write above i have no problem.
when TS crash at start it can be because "autoload the last file" is enabled + windows cam with solid mode saved on the setting.
maybe not your problem but it is interesting to know this bug.
