Spent 120 work hours resolving a stupid problem

Post by froo »

Yeah so that's where I've been the past several weeks. Just sayin. It's a stupid problem which no one really cares about probably anyway. Man. Anyway at least it's solved now.
Now. Back to 3D. Geez. Stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid freakin problem. Yeah I am not saying what I really want to say. But anyway. Heh. I'll just have a few :bananacheers: and I'll be fine. Speaking of which, my wife and I are going here tonight for free beer and indie movies, rubbing elbows with local indie filmmakers:

The monthly Emerging Filmmakers Project is happenin TONIGHT!!! My wife is an actress. I'm more of a behind the scenes kind of guy, and get in front of the camera only when necessary. :)

I suppose everyone will be wondering about this so I'll just go ahead and ask, what exactly was that problem you had? :P

Have fun watching movies! I always wished I could such a thing for a living but then I started doing 3D and gaming so my life took a sharp turn there

Well, this is a problem with a solution that I think, may have very little value. That's what I meant when I said 'probably no one cares about it anyway'. Basically, a particular key on the keyboard did not work properly so I had to write code which actually puts the character into the text areas. In 500+ places. It was a very tedious, horrendous pain in the ass task.

Thanks Draise!
It was very frustrating; especially when I was questioned whether it REALLY took that long. I had to explain the reasons. It was a big mess. I could have said, well I'll just do a half ass job and leave it at that. But, something like this would not reflect well in the future, I don't think. But anyway. It's done now. Man. :)

Do what I do.

Spend 119 hours loafing and screwing off. Then use the last hour to get productive.

Yes, that seems like a lot of work indeed. I would just have used a different keyboard but that's just me...

Well it's not the keyboard that's the problem. All users have the problem - it's the interface. At least it's done now. Gah.

Heh good plan James. I spent about 1.5 weeks trying to find information online with extremely little success. Once I realized the solution, I then found I had to touch every little area, as opposed to using a simple one-shot solution.
