Ok this is quite exciting. Nvidia has achieved real time ray tracing with their new GF100 card. I am not sure if this has been posted, but I was excited. Here is a youtube link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbHRsca3vkk" .

Re: Nvidia has achieved it!
Unfortunately, these tests can't really be taken too seriously.
First, they're using 3 cards in the so-called "real-time raytracing" test, yikes!
Second, they're using a proprietary application to do the test - we don't really know what's been baked in, and what is real-time. I don't think rendering the same car over and over again is really going to light up the 3d industry.
The fermi cards look really cool, but nVidia really don't help there cause with dross like this. They really have developed some bad habits, the recent farce with the gt250 (which was really a re-badged 9800gtx) being another recent marketing fail.
I think they probably only released these vids anyway to slow down sales of ATI cards. To be honest, I can't think of any time recently that nvidia gave a demonstration of an upcoming card prior to release, they must be desparate.
Despite this, I'll still be getting one.

Did you catch the size of the case fan...the size of my car radiator fan!
I'll wait.
