Lost My Keys.... CURSES!!!!!

Post by froo »

Lost my damn keys last night. Gaaahhhh!! I have a spare set
but this really cheeses me off. Not in the house, not at the store,
nowhere. Dang black holes!

Check carefully the upholstered furniture.... the furniture gremlins just love to reach up from inside the cracks of upholstery and tug our keyrings and change out of our pockets, pulling them down a few inches into their dark forbidding dustbunny world. :D

How could they be at a Store if you drove home? (using Keys)
You were at OurSpace last night so unless there is information you didn't
share I would assume they are at your home.

well, I used my car keys to get my wallet out of my car; we took my wife's car to the track.
My car keys were in her car. When we got back home, I grabbed my keys to open the door,
then got her keys as well, to ensure they did not get locked in her car accidentally. Then we entered
the house. I went into the kitchen to grab the grocery ad, then left again, in her car.
I went to the store, and came back. At that time, I could no longer find my keys.
I have scoured both cars, and the house where I could have walked during that time.
Several times.
Well, it's frustrating. They could have fallen out of my pocket in the store parking lot or the store.
I checked the store last night; no keys on the floor, none returned to Lost and Found. I called this AM.
No luck.

There is a red YMCA id tag on it. That's pretty hard to miss. My one concern is someone will try to
take that to the YMCA, get my id and address, etc. So I am calling them immediately; to cancel the tag,
and get another reissued.

I imagine a futur world where when you lose your mobil phone, you lose your access to internet, the keys of your car and house, your credit card, your pass for transport, your identity, your job, your wife and your dog do not recognize you.
It is a beautifull day... :bananadevil:

In the future there will be no problems with cellphones or keys.

In the future you will have a chip inplanted in your body which give you acess to your home, car and other areas which you nowadays has keys to. No PIN code. You also have the mobiletelephone installed in this chip and a GPS system which tells you where you are. This is the true mindmap! If you are to drunk after a party to drive a car, the car says no or drive you at home and put you to bed with a lullaby song.

How it's working? I have no clue!!!

I will leave the futuristic things and return to present time. When i loose something I allways sit down and think. There did I see the lost item the last time and figure out what I did at that time. Often I can go back and find some clue to find the object.

And one thing is to prepare to a loose the keys is to make them impossibly to trace. I have no ID-tag to my keys. There is nothing which can trace it to my house. I have a spare key which I can duplicate if its needed. My young daughter once been stolen of her handbag with keys and adress to our house. It became expensive to change lock devices for all our doors but she got her lesson.

Jason..... think real hard now... when you went to shut the house door on the way to the store, did you lock it from the outside with those keys?

If so you needn't bother searching the house. Also, if so, was there a streetwseeper that runs down your road at that time of night / that night of the week? If so, they may well be in the nearest storm drain.

I generally just lock my door and leave the keeys sticking out of the lock on the outside. I find that a very good theft deterent.

thanks folks.
ehh I lock from the inside. I think they fell out of my shorts.
I have to move on. As long as no one can get the car, or into the house.
Very low probability. Oh well. Just another bad thing that happened in VB.

For the future...

Make a model of the keys in tS, and have them printed, as needed. You know you want a 3D printer at home.
