Better late than never, I suppose. I bought the last for-money version of tS, with VRay, and due to display driver conflicts was never able to use tS until after it had been released free. Should've got a refund I suppose but hope springs eternal. All worked out in the end.

What I've not yet managed to do is to get VRay actually to work. That's one of the things I'll ask about if it's not already covered elsewhere (probably is).

In other hand, the last release of vray is not compatible with truespace last release.. i build time ago a patch, but tiles (i think he was) made a better installer, must be somewhere..
You need to run that patch to make vray work on the last and final version of truespace..

I'll try to find it..

After thinking it over a while, I think it's partly that I work mostly in Model and (if I remember right) VRay works only in Workspace. I got it installed and showing in the list but wasn't clear on what was available from where.

Glad to hear there's a way to use VRay with 7.61. I was about to go from 7.6 to 7.61 but noticed in a FAQ that wouldn't work. It would be great to be able to use both -- thanks very much. It will be a while before I've time enough to do more than check that it works, but it would be nice to know it was there for tasks demanding extra realism.

Got a few other questions but I'll put them in a more appropriate place.

You can find the patch that lets VRay 1.53 run with tS 7.61B8 in this plugin pack that can be found here. You have to dig a bit though.

VRay works fine in Modeler here. You have to change the render engine to VRay in the settings though.

Figures; I've been confused about a lot in tS7.6 on account of not having time to really learn it. Things were so much simpler back when I bought version 1.0 from an Egghead store! (Wow, nostalgia time.)

Bought it when it originally came out....as a download. Lost it when computer crashed. Are the original download areas still around? If so, I could download again.....I assume not though because of the Caligari website being dead.

Like Tiles said, no one is selling VRay for trueSpace anymore. Unless someone sells you their copy I don't know of any other way to get it.

Are we misinterpreting what your asking us? I thought you asked where you can buy VRay not how to upgrade VRay from 1.52 to 1.53.
An upgrade will not fix the Glass bug if that was the bug you were referring.
What exactly do you want to do?

I own that I use with Vray 1:52 TrueSpace 7.51, which in a scene with many objects work very badly with crash and other serious problems,
I tried to replace the trueSpace with version 7.6 and 7.61 but with the V-Ray these in my possession does not work
