So here goes! I'm competing, gotta do this in a week because I am moving houses and starting work again... I'm very sad my holidays are coming to an end...



Starting modeling on the concept, slow progress.. as I'm tired. But I sat with my brother and we drew some cool concept art, kinda. Link here.

The idea is to do the scene, but if I can, make a funny comic strip too with some characters. it will be a challenge to model and texture everyone, and rig just the mouth. I am making very simple potato/shape like blog characters and the scenery will be minimal. The touch will be textures painted by my fingers on my phone. So clever UV's and the like.. I will see how it goes. Again, done all in free software! WISH ME LUCK!

Small update, life is in the way at the moment.

I'm glad you put some trousers on it, my palms were getting sweaty.

Hehehehe. yeah.. I think a naked hobbit running around wouldn't be a good idea!!!



Update, see if I can model it all today... Maybe do some simple rigs for the comic strip!

Scenery is coming on, thinking to create a second character for the joke, and then I'll do some touchups here and there.. but again I'm thinking to keep this quite minimal, and just make it enjoyable.

Not sure if this should be the final entry or not.. But I want to turn this into something else.. not sure what I should do, put in motion blur, and action scene!? More characters? Some toy depth of field? All more work.. but I like this for now...

Speech bubbles? More props? More textures? What do you guys think!?

I made a dwarf, grumpy and fun! He's ready to play the joke! I modified some of the composition, changed the scenery a little, added some more textures to the ground... or I am. I will also play with DOF, I have decided, regardless of the extra work.

Hehehehe, well I was hoping the woman would actually be a hobbit! I didn't see the woman in it, but now I do! Oops.

Final comic! I dedicate this to a fine young lady I met just recently... Mari.

Anyhow.... I hope you like it! This probably won't be the final scene, so I'm going to do another composition with some DOF and put that in the competition. I think I have spent enough time on this and should work on my other long term projects.

Composition done in Paint.net, and the rest in TS.
