I like the heavy machinery supporting it. It could go steampunk with textures or look realistic.

this will be huge and industrial image... i hope you will get the light (and materials) right to set the right industrial mood. Some roof windows will help, maybe slight volumetrics, what do you say? ;)

So was it a Star Trek-like transporter? I thought it might be funny, that you might make it a pneumatic tube like a the drive up at banks.
