Okay I am finally getting around to this.
The first 3 pictures you see (IMG_344, IMG_345 series):
The first picture is a normal shot. This is IMG_344.
IMG_345: I moved just a little bit, just after taking picture IMG_344.
There are 2 copies of this photo; the second one is annoted, with the items
of interested highlighted in red. Now, the highlighted areas could be due
to 'photographic / lens' error. Or, it could be an apparition / ghost causing
this. Though, I find it odd there are distortions on multiple locations, along
multiple planes. The first 'plane' is the windowed door on the nice dark bookcase.
That is on the left. The other 'plane' is the glass paned white door, on the right.
The second set, marked as IMG_355, was taken in front of Room 214, I believe; the room
where Stephen King stayed, where he got the idea for his book, The Shining.
The tour guide told us, that apparitions may be seen as a 'spot', looking upwards, towards
the area where this photo is taken. I waited for a couple hours after the tour, when things quieted
down; then I went to take this picture. Interestingly enough, there's a nice spot there. The second
picture in this series is annoted to highlight the area of interest.
I am a pessimistic-believer, I suppose. On one hand, I can see how these effects can be 'spirits'.
On the other hand though, I ask myself, well, could the hotel setup some kind of trickery relatively cheaply?
Or is there a water droplet on my camera lens (doubtful; otherwise I would see the same SPOT on every
picture, in the same pixel location). So. I think I have at least some evidence here; specifically, the spot.
The odd distortions on the first set of pics, I am not so sure. But. It could be that first picture, with that
bright flash, was enough to 'illuminate/energize' someone. I have some video as well, during the tour, when the
guide was in front of the Stanley Steamer, which is more convincing I think.

Froo those are normal photographic effects nothing special...
The thing on the wall you are pointing us to is an electricity splicer box...
http://www.mosel-elektro.de/Schalter-Ab ... 74387.html"
http://www.elektro-und-mehr.de/product_ ... 81-05.html"
They have plastic covers that you dont see in normal light with the naked eye but
they have a different reflectivity then the wall..
i have those all the time when I´taking pictures of shop floors..
and yes they are haunting me in my dreams because i´m always scanning my pix to find the faults
before my clients do..
There´s nothing special about what your seeing..

Re: Stanley Hotel Photos: Possible apparitions?
Thanks Rayman. It was fun being there.
I will try to get the video uploaded, and point out
what is on there. Maybe there is a reasonable
explanation for it as well.
Just out of curiosity... do the batteries on your
cameras ever discharge unexpectedly? If so,
do you know why would that happen?
I had a full charge on my camcorder and it suddenly discharged
while filming a segment there.

I´ve had all sorts of batteries down before... depends on the temperature and lots of things....froo wrote:Thanks Rayman. It was fun being there.

there are tons of reasons that go down to basic physics and electronics....I always carry spares...

My ex moved a mirror once and didn't tell me.
Walked down the hall which was dark and saw an image.
Nearly had a heart attack.

Nearly had a heart attack.
Walk by faith, not by sight.

Froo,
Screw the glowing apparitions and dead batteries...
Did the elevator open with 10,000 gallons of blood?
Was there a Big Wheel riding up and down the halls at night?
Did you get the munchies and spend the night in the freezer?
Did you have a drink with Lloyd the bartender?
Did you wake up in the morning with lipstick on your mirror? (kinky I know)
Do you have the urge to trim your hedges into farm animals?
Is there a large gaping hole in your bathroom door?
NOW THAT'S A GHOST STORY!

Re: Stanley Hotel Photos: Possible apparitions?
Steinie,
No, but we did hear some strange sounds (not the type you typically
hear in a hotel room); for example, how often does someone push on your
room door, or twist the knob? This is one of those things you have to actually
experience, in order to cast doubt - was that just the wind? Or something else?
I got the biggest shock of my life, literally. On the 4th floor it is quite dry and static-y.
That's where we stayed. I touched the button for the elevator and it damn near
took my left arm off. It felt like someone punched me in the shoulder. That hurt!
Oh; the elevator. Well it was a little weird. We tried to find it; the showed us,
and it opened for us. We didn't need to push the button. Yeah that happens right?
Well, we went to our room, then went back down. I know I pushed that damn button.
The elevator wouldn't move. So I pushed '1' again, but got off on the 2nd floor. Oooohkay.
I did see this though.
