Blender crashes on start

Post by froo »

ok I'm getting everything loaded back up.
Messed with a printer. Screw that. Too pricey. Anyway.

I tried Python 2.6.4 and 3.1.1; blender 2.49B crashes.
Any tips please? Been awhile...

I'm using python 2.6.2 and it works fine. Blender might be fussy about this, I'm not sure....

ok. I tried to find 2.6.2 but could only find 2.6.3. I will dig deeper.
thanks. It may be the video card still; I still get complaints about .NET 2.0 not being installed,
though I installed it. Hm.

http://www.python.org/download/releases/2.6.2/"

I wonder about the card, what kind is it?

There was no OpenGL32.dll driver in the blender folder.
I did a quick search on the blender forums and found a link to a opengl32.dll
driver. It was on rapidshare.com, which I try to avoid. I tried a opengl32.dll
file from dll-downloads but that one didn't work. This one did:

http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthr ... t=ATI+2600"
http://rapidshare.com/files/174158292/o ... ender_.rar"

Another option: Get the atioglxx.dll from the ATI Catalyst install:
http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthr ... ioglxx.dll"

So blender FINALLY works with the ATI 2600. Phew.

I'll keep an eye on the speed of blender; I may need to try the other dll: atioglxx.dll,
if it slows down, but I think it's the other way around: blender slows down if atioglxx.dll
is used.

I was reading something about this. Luckily, my 4350 doesn't have any issues - I guess ATI must have fixed them somehow.
