Which theme are you using for this forum?

Post by First Light »

Greetings,

We have three very diverse themes for this forum. When I first joined, the default was the dark and mysterious "twilightBB". I like it a lot and use it because it is easy on the eyes and promotes more accurate color perception (it's a "video thing"). But some members have noted that certain text colors that show up well in the dark them don't show up well in the two light themes (AeroBlue and prosilver). The opposite is also true. If I was in charge, I'd make everyone use the dark theme. (Aren't you glad that I'm not in charge?).

If you're new here, you may be wondering how to change your theme. Here's how:

1 - Click on the "UCP" (User Control Panel) button or link at the top of the forum.
2 - Click on "Board Preferences" in the list along the side of the User Control Panel.
3 - Use the "My board style" drop down list to select one of the three themes.

Here are the three themes:

I use prosilver in this forum because I use aeroblue in another similar phpBB powered forum and the different styles help identify them. Twilight is a good style but I can't see the letters when the bright desert sun shines into the room.

Good point. I often forget about the problems of ambient light on shadow detail and dark color schemes because I work in a controlled media environment. My workspace is designed to make video look its best and audio sound its best.

I do to ... just not uncontrolled light when I'm at the computer or video display. The desire for real sunshine and fresh air (and health) drives me to take breaks. To get out of my chair and "unplug". I'll hit the trail and walk or jog for a mile. I try to do this each day.

Before i was on the twilightbb because it was the default theme. today i try the other theme and aeroblue is better for the bright screen of my notebook. Twilightbb is beautiful but difficult to read for me and the smilies are not designed for a dark blackground. It is possible to have a better logo for tSCommunity in aeroblue as in twilightbb?
