Re: Lightwave full production suite on sale
Which is a lot of money! Not a bad deal though!
I pay less then 300$ per year for my Vue Inf subcription which gets
me almost unlimited poly count on a standard computer...but its not lightning
fast....
Lightning fast is i.e C4D standard plus carbon scatter and a gpu based render engine...
which sets you back more then double the price....
Whats so good about these solutions is that you can integrate Truespace and Blender
and Daz and Poser... and Sketchup into one plattform. ..use everything as an animted
eco systen (instancees).....
Basically its the cheapest crowd symulation..you can even host scripted content from
TS7.6.. as an animated Collada.....also as particles....
all that on a warehouse Computer sytem not a workstation...!!!!

Re: Lightwave full production suite on sale
Hi
A long time no post..
.still pursuing as my main hobby writing SF and not 3D as modeler...but this offer makes me think...especially when I am considering hobbies becoming full-time pursuits in a year or so.
Anybody have experience of Lightwave or even an opinion compared to other Pro software. I have a soft-spot for it as it was used to make Babylon 5, one of my all time favourite SF shows.
At the time of the end of TrueSpace development I was looking at Cinema4D, but I'm glad I didn't plunge as the updates seem very expensive.
If I buy something I want something at the professional level...
The two other softwares I keep updates are Vue Artist and 3Dcoat,
The main reason to keep up with Vue is for potential book covers and I am toying with the idea of an illustrated Kindle book using both traditional and 3D illustrations
My job hasn't called for much 3D illustration of late and the last major 3D animation that was produced for our group was outsources to a pro company. This year we lost half our budget and downsizing is happening. My job is safe at the moment, but who can tell...
