Modeling practice
Some serious modeling practice. From Star Wars Incredible Cross-Sections. A chunk of one of the Space Ships.

Re: Modeling practice
I like it a lot.
Cross sections are cool and not utilized enough in the 3Dart world, more in CAD.
Since I like to rip and tear, seeing the inner works of a crossection of something compromised by unknown forces would be cool.

Re: Modeling practice
Very cool! I want to know what it is though, I've been starting at it for a whole minute trying to figure it out. Is it a part of a Pod-racer? a part of a Trade Federation Command ship? Maybe a wing from a Sith Interceptor? Or am I completely off? =P

WOW! Now that is way cool. Love the metalic look you have got going on.
Good luck with this as every time I look at a Droid Tri Fighter, trying to figure the design layout just gives me a headache.

Re: Modeling practice
Thanks everyone. That's all I'll be building of that model. And Breech Block guessed it correctly! I'm going to do another one - just a chunk - might be a fun guessing game

Re: Modeling practice
thanks!
And Breech Block, you guessed right again - must be a Star Wars fan.
I'm getting the hang of modeling in TS. It really has lots of great features. All it really lacks is an edge-slide function, and maybe flatten-polygons.

Re: Modeling practice
BTW, you can slide an edge across the surface of a face/polygon in Pont edit mode using the slice tool. Okay, admitedly it adds a new edge but you can easily delete the original. Thats how i used to manage it.Peter wrote:thanks!
