truespaceplugins.com down - new developer forum - interest?

Post by DesignDevil »

Hi developer and user comunity,

i had a discussion with Fenerit if it would be useful to have a new place for plugin developers. Since truespaceplugins.com is down there is no place for us developer ;)

For me it would be cool to have such a forum and i could create one on my website as a place to come together - share new ideas, scripts, codes, examples, hints, tricks and create a archive of knowledge of developing trueSpace extensions so that new plugins can be created which one man alone could not create.

So here my question to all developers (no matter which language) and interested users - what do you think?

Thanks in advice - DD
I still use TrueSpace 6.6

Why not use this forum here? This is the shortest way between you as the developers and us as the users :)

Yeah most of all this forum needs some content like plugins to draw new people to this site... so yes why not this site ?

Yep, i also discussed this with Fenerit and it would be the easiest and best solution.

On the other hand i don't know if it is useful to create lots of new categories and loose more from the overview in the forum (today we got 22 categories!).

Maybe it would be possible to get a "sub" forum in the forum? Especialy because for the different categories. For example: the different tS versions (that means plugin versions) used languages, sources, scripts, bug reports, ideas etc.

I agree, use this forum, with sub categories. We just need to contact the admin, Prodigy or someone who has access to administring this forum. I think that would be better, better to be all together here to keep on developing tS!

As my two cents, already the "Our Shared Space Community", "Artists Folder", "Work in Progress" and "CHALLENGES!" sound like sub-categories of a more unified title...

Subcategories had been discussed before. The regular visitor won't bother digging into subcategories to find WIPs etc. That is why everything is expanded.
It is a different argument when users maintain a section of Categories/Subcategories. The owners now have their own area to discuss and share, and subcategories are not a problem.

Just a quick FYI. You all can still access Truespaceplugins.com on the Wayback Machine. Just type in the old web address where you see http:// and it should load the old archive for the now gone site. Leroy. WBM, is apparently quite useful for accessing old dead sites if you can remember the url. Cheers to all and to all a good day.

I don't about adding, but the archive itself links to other archived sites so it really seems an ideal resource for other Caligari and old 3rd party web sites. I downloaded a ton of free plugins and shaders off a link from Lunadudes old archive by linking to the other archive via Luna's links. It really is quite awesome, and I thought Caligari stuff was pretty much gone forever...long live Truespace! :worship:
