Working on next indigo exporter

Post by clintonman »

This is a simple preview of an update to the Indigo exporter. Picture just shows some glowing boxes that has the glow controlled by the material instead of using a mesh light(deprecated). Other changes will include the rest of the basic material types: specular, nk data added to the d3d phong material, glossy transparent, diffuse transmitter and the oren nayar material. The only major missing material will be the blend material. Blends will have to be created through scripting/download-able materials. The new Indigo material editor may make that easier, I have not checked it out yet. I also added some code/nodes to make it easier to share a scene.

Update: It's almost done. The new materials are finished and I just added ies file support. Pictures show an ordinary light and a couple of ies results.

This should be the last update before release. i just need to test the scene un-packager and it should be done(until next time). This image shows the new render region feature. It uses a modified rectangle zoom to get the render area.

awesome work,, ..
question: will this update also work with the last free version of indigo render engine , or is it purely for the newer indigo engine ?

respect

Maybe...
There were some changes that would make it incompatible with the older version, so I broke it into 2 scripts at that point, one for version 2 and one for version 1. At this point I've only worked on the version 2 script for the incompatible parts. After I finish the scene packager(ran into some weird bugs) I will go back and attempt the changes into the version 1 script.

BTW I had to break it into 2 scripts because it was getting too big for the truespace script editor and was slowing down to a crawl for some kinds of changes. I think the yafaray guys ran into the same problem.

wish me luck.

Edit: It works without any changes! :) Ends up my version 1 code was out of date even for version 1 indigo.
