Here is what I have made so far. Note that although I had a lot of parts already, I decided to remodel all of them for a new joint system I devised just for this project. This will give me some more options when posing and more maneuverability than the regular Lego pieces.

New Bionicle Project
Finally got back to making Bionicles again. Boy, it has been years but I'm quite exited! This project was a crazy idea I had to make myself and a small group of me mates in Bionicle character form.

Also, please no comments on the cowboy hat, it's priceless and I will hear no more of it

Great idea - making one for each of your friends. Each mask has its own personality. I like that hexagonal symbol font. Can't read it but it looks cool.

I like it. Perhaps the torso should be longer. But it is a good work at this step.

Re: New Bionicle Project
Current progress. About to start making the armour.

@Finis. It just said "Work In Progress" and the names of the masks in Matoran writing.
@Marcel. I'm not so sure yet about the torso. The armour pieces are what define the shape of each Bionicle so I will be able to tweak the height through those. I'm still looking into what kind of official pieces there are that would suit the character and I'll model those to fit my model.

Your hard surface modeling is mint! Great work, love the hat, I think that's the best one of them all!

Do you plan on creating a bone structure for this one. It would be crazy cool!

Considering all joints are solid, I wouldn't know how to do it in trueSpace. It would be fun though, I have just never really looked into that kind of rigging and animation in trueSpace.

@pugman1
Yeah I could do it in Blender as I have played around with rigging in that program before. It's certainly a lot more straight forward.
Unfortunately that would mean I would have to do everything else in that program as well. That includes setting up the materials(again) and to be honest, I really hate the Blender material editor. That and I have never even used its render engine. So I think that may be a project left for another time.
After all, I still have four more of these characters to build

OK, first character finished! A proper render will be my next step but at least modeling + posing are behind me.
