Caligari stop supporting few file formats.. even the last version it doesn't have tiff support.. quite funny cos microsoft is proprietary of tiff format
Another brilliant move from microsoft

Re: Stuck with ts version 5.2
The last truespace standalone version does have limited file type support. Microsoft took down the full 7.61 version so if you need the more complete version you'll have to search the web for a copy. I'm not sure of the exact name but you want the one that does not have "Std" in the name and does not say "Rosetta" in the title when you run it.

The last I heard was 5.1 with a service pack 2.
[edit after post]
oops! [rob hits palm to forehead] nevermind, I remember now. Twas a patch afterwards for, like $100.00, or I think it was sold in box that way as well. I remember now, they pulled that stunt immediately after I bought my box, so I refused!!!!

to be honest i am so disturbed by the amount of bugs in 5.2 that I should deserve a free upgrade to 6.6

Re: Stuck with ts version 5.2
oh, btw, I forgot to mention;your not alone, I'm in the exact same situation as you, except as said I have 5.1 sp2, other than d/l 7.6. Yeah kinda sucks, I'd at least liked to have gotten 6.6 as well, but I always skipped everyother version as well or something along those lines even though I did buy 4, other-wise I figured it was a big money pit.Yamabushi wrote:Since caligari sold to microsoft i am stuck with my old version 5.2 and really wish i had bought version 6.6 and also 7.x
As I've said before in another post, kind of hard to believe this has all happened, tis like a bad dream or something. I would have never believed that there would be an end to TS. Microsoft does suck, just look at their support for games from one OSto thenext (its another money pit and they know it). People end up with cabinets full of useless games and software after 2 newer versions of windows are released. I've boycotted and stopped all the next version upgrades. Microsoft are rich punks and their religion is Monopoly. Their monopolizing is almost certainly what *REALLY* did TS in. Nobody is safe while MS is around, just look at Netscape. People need to stick together and petition MS to get back on TS, or hand it back solely to Caligari (which we know they won't do). Only way to stop this kind of stuff is to come together and take a stand, just like that which is going on against the government and obama-care. Massachusetts knows.
kind regards
Rob
