tnx guys :) just having fun...

experimenting with some foliage... added the main tree trunk and anchor ropes with some branch leafs and roofs...

not getting alpha maps to work properly, the leafy bits are always to bright and shiney and doesn't come out nicely... anybody played around with alpha maps a lot?

figured out how to do alpha maps in tS last night and it gave me inspiration to model some more, so here is an update... i think the major scene layout is done, i will now add some figures going about their daily business, maybe add a few campfires or something...

btw. for those who haven't done alpha maps in tS modelspace side, the icon is found at the top of the color shader, but you need to hold in the mouse to get the list of three icons, choose "transparency map" in the middle to use alpha maps...

I love the tree leaves (your alpha work) and the scene too.
Can I suggest something? OK good... :D
Your scenes always look brand new and in perfect condition.
I'm not even talking about the texture work here (making things dirty etc.)
I would suggest warping some wood, put some slack on some of your rope, alter
the perfect alignment of your steps, (look at my rope ladder and base of the tree house)
to see what I mean. Just loosen up the feel of your scene to make it more believable.
I always enjoyed your worlds you create for us and wanted to give you my view point.

tnx Steinie, very good point, I need to think more in terms of real life imperfections and wear&tear on objects... thanks for the comments :) ... it think it will depend on how much time I can make for the details but would like to add as much in as possible...

got an half an hour free time this morning before work and messed around with more alpha maps, adding more foliage overgrowths on the huts and platform edges...
