Rat

Post by Steinie »

The initial idea came to me from the SMC "Something to Eat"
It just wouldn't be a contest to me without some Humor! ;)
Let's see how far I'll take this one...

A side to side pan of the Rat. The body is not developed yet since it was initially for the SMC.
My focus was on the head and the idea.

hah!

i suppose you could add different flavors or perhaps options with the kind of stick used. :bananamouse:

Regardless, most excellent!

Thanks James!
It seems like my favorite tools in Sculptris are the grab, inflate and draw.
Amazing what can be created with just these three. Of course using the Ctrl key gives me the
inverse of the tools so in fact I have 6 valuable tool favorites.

I don't know why but this Rat seems to need a watch. Anyone have a Seiko he can borrow? :)

Looks like you are really getting the hang of Sculptris, Steinie. :bananacheers:

Thanks you guys!
I hope you like the finished results. Everything was done as a doodle using nothing but my imagination.

You'll be seeing the last two creatures I've done
in a future scene. Scary thought!

Great work, Bob. :bananacool2:

Love all the detail you have managed to get in like the belly-button and rib cage. He's also wearing a great expression.

I have a question Steinie.
I have been playing with Sculptris, trying to make
ears on a rabbit, for example. I noticed your characters have
good looking ears. Is it possible to alter the shape of the
brush you are using? For example, if I want to use the Inflate brush,
can I get a brush shape other than a circle? What if I want an ellipse?
That would allow me to Inflate an elliptical selection of triangles,
rather than a circular selection of triangles.

Thanks!

Use the "Grab" with different sizes and strength.
There is no reason to have any other shape brushes, just rethink
how you can approach it.
I do almost all the work with Draw, Inflate, and Grab. The others
are for fine tuning and details.
If you need any screen grabs for examples just ask.

Ok thanks Steinie.
I'll try that. After all, I'm all about 'rethinking'. :bananacheers:

Steinie,
I like your work you are progressing in your talents and still keeping that Steinie-Style as I call it.
Take a look at my post about needing Modelers and see if you are interested.
