I was just reading up on Vue, and the stuff it can do is just amazing. Are there any other programs out there that can even complete on scene composition?

you wont be able to fill a scene with objects as easily with pretty much any program out
there...may that be houses or trees plus other programs dont come with athmospheres... so
yes its very usefull.Its got a lot that Ts doesnt so its more complementary then being a supplement

How is the material system in Vue?

Do you have to import your UV maps, texures, and normal maps. or is it easy to create them in view after importing the model?

I find it very easy as you can see and inspect every material from within the scene editor.
In Vue you have 3
different depth of making Materials a simple one with just the texture and the bump and alpha.
You can switch to advanced mode wich is very deep and even lets you enter functions and in the infinite version I
got (dont know about the others ) you have a third depth which even lets you link in a node based editor.
Everything in my Vue inf is keyframable ! everything....
Plus you got layers and properties to layers.........
liked material a on slopes and b on flat etc.... or depending on the highth....
With the Kronos plugin or in the inf version you can load movies next to into any chanel.
But Textures normaly transfer flawlessly from any application including from the free Sketchup....
I transfered files from truespace without problems...

Thanks for the heads up Rayman, I have ordered the software
and I should receive it soon. Wizard first got me interested in Vue but at the time
my needs were in different areas.
I'll be interested in the trueSpace to Vue flow soon.
