L.V.I. Challenge_Plasma Transfer Core

Post by Dragneye »

I'm in too. Doubt I'll have a finished pic by the deadline; if I can finalize a model I'll be happy.
Going to try an old idea with a new eye.
The cross-section below shows the inner circles as the three transfer 'tubes' that plasma balls are propelled thru down the length of the ship as they find their way to their specific external holding 'ball containers'.
Working out what the shape of the tubes and internal architecture of the ship will be for now.

Who says a vehicle interior has to be a passenger area? Technical areas are interior too. Good thinking outside of the box.

Revised but still tentative. Thinking the walls should be rounded.

Still working out the layout of the interior ship as a whole, but can only focus at a hallway so, here's the latest...

This will have to be my final image. More of a sketch than a finished product but at least I was able to push this idea a bit forward. Will work on it a bit after the challenge as its a model for a bigger plan.
Its really all in the textures. The vision was all types of alien bots going back and forth. The lighter colored path is a gravity (lite) pad. The large box type holes in the distance are open elevators. The walls have lite electo-gravitic properties too so one can walk the circumference but the ship is inhabited by bots and they are programmed with 'order' in mind so, they stick to the path. Our protagonist in the story... does not.
The fun of this project is that I have to design in 3D space. In space, there is no up or down, only what you make of it.
The aliens meta-mentality is the triangle and they think in threes (the race that created the bots). We think in duality... they think and speak in tri-ality. Their language includes symbols and numbers (space/spatial) as part of a word.
To be continued...

Good luck to all who entered.
