Re: Cruel Doubt -- In need of opinions!
All 3 are pretty cool, but the first one is the best in my eye's. It has the best lightning and creates a really good atmosphere. PRETTY NICE MADE

All objects in the scene are created by me. Thanks Froote! Yeah I think that alternative three it's better, I'm now just posting it in the SMC challenge

Good work Leon.
I like alternative 3 the best but alternative 1 does show the whole pen.

I like 3 and then 1. The lighting is very nice but I bet in real life it
would be different. The ink is on the left, the pen is angled to the left
so the person appears to be left handed. However the candle is also on
the left causing shadows to fall across the work. A left handed person would
rather have the light source on the right side.
Sherlock Holmes would be proud!
The modeling and textures are great!

Yeah all three are nice but I like 1 the best.
The other lighting sugestion I have would be a mask for the light. The color and the tone really make it look like candle light. But, candles don't spread light that evenly.

Re: Cruel Doubt -- In need of opinions!
all three are looking awesome but i like the top one most for some reason, looks a little more personal and a less 'staged' camera angle perhaps...

Re: Cruel Doubt -- In need of opinions!
I think the writer wrote to his wife. It has a picture on his right hand. so the lighting is left to illuminate the picture and avoid the shadow of the photo on the paper. But i can't confirm without the reflexion of the right hand on the glass and metal.Steinie wrote:I like 3 and then 1. The lighting is very nice but I bet in real life it

I like 3 then 1 ... just a thought if you rendered the chair in the background of number 1 I think it would compliment the piece nicely.

Re: Cruel Doubt -- In need of opinions!
Spacekdet you are right, but I don't know how to do it I've tried material rectangle but I can't figure out. Any help will be welcome. It's just a fast scene would be perfect if I have more time, but I have to finish others ongoing WIPs..
Thanks v3rd3 maybe I could try that...
Marcel is right I'll post one more image with all the upgrades that people are talking about... And the photo of his wife

Re: Cruel Doubt -- In need of opinions!
I am partial to the first one. I like the overall feel and the viewing angle of the image along with the soft lighting. These are my favorite kinds of scenes. Not overly complex but there is a lot that can be done with just a good camera angle and lighting.
