I am a bit interested in a new Laptop from Dell, the Inspirion Duo, but I am curious about how Dell does releases and set prices. Perhaps someone can give me some explanation.

First, the Duo is available in one big retail store in Sweden where I live. However, it is NOT available on Dells Swedish homepage.
I find that a bit strange - does that mean that the product isn't officially released in Sweden yet? And how can the retail store sell it here then - it appears to have a Swedish version of Windows on it (because it doesn't say "English" which is common if it is an English OS version). So it doesn't seam to be any kind of parallel import (which happened with the iPad for instance).

Is that common, that Dell releases it to retailers before their own homepage?
Does that mean that Dell will release it cheaper than the retailers when they do release it?
Currently it cost almost exactly as it would if you use a exchange rate of 10 kronor for $1. That is a "common" rate when it comes to electric products because of higher taxes here (the real exchange rate is a bit lower than 7 to 1 now).
This mean that the current price is about the price that should be excepted - for instance, the 10 to 1 rate is the one that Apple uses.

What I am trying to find out is more or less if I should wait for the product to appear on Dells page or buy it before that... or perhaps not buy it at all (the reviews are mixed about the product, some appear to like it, some don't).
What is your experience when it comes to Dell and these questions?
