Hey folks,
question:
I notice right after I render an image or what-have-you and the render is still on the screen and the mouse is moved the render disappears leaving you back at the wire-frame of your model and etc. Have some of my settings perhaps changed? I don't want it to do this until I click the "draw object as wire" button, if this is possible. I notice that some folks are able to get screen shots (ctrl+print screen) but when I hold these buttons it automatically gets rid of the render leaving me back at wire frame and therefore of course, the screen shot is of the wire-frame. I thought there was a option that stopped mouse movement from clearing the finished on screen render, but if so I can't find it, even went through the manual. I'm using TS5.1 SP2
Any help greatly appreciated as always.
kind regards
Rob

I think that's the usual behavior when you 'render to screen.'
If you 'render to file' it will save the image in one go, no screencapping/pasting/cropping needed.
From what I remember from tS5.x, moving the cursor over or across the selected object ( or a widget ) will clear the onscreen render- hovering over tool icons is usually 'safe' and shouldn't clear the display.
If it's clearing the minute you move the mouse do you by chance have Preferences/ 'Dynapick' activated? Try turning it off.

Re: mouse move clears render?????
I just tried it with TS 5.1 SP2. Mine does not clear when I move the mouse but if I click such that an object is selected then it clears. I have dynapick off but the behavior was the same with it on. There must be some preference that changes that since mine doesn't react to mouse moves. It did have that effect if I turned on the 3D controls when I moved the mouse onto an object's control box.
When I want a screen capture I use the screen capture abilities of Paint Shop Pro.

Yeah, that's a feature that used to annoy me about trueSpace, the disappearing screen renders when the mouse moved.

well you led me in the right direction, I turned OFF 3d controls and that fixed it. That makes sense because I never really kept 3d controls on but decided to try and learn them, as they say in a "slow but surely" manner..., I turned them on months ago.....makes sense now, I knew something changed cause it never did that to me all these years. Thank you.
kind regards
