Het 3DVD that's amazing, great idea!!! I like the front page, modern.

How do you make the letters fade out then fade in, in cycles. I'm not getting time to learn wix or yafa, too busy.

the "fade out then fade in, in cycles" of the text areas on the flash page at Wix was done inside the wix editor. There is a menu in the editor on the left where you can select various types of page elements, graphics, videos, animations, music, etc. What I used was a combination of the "mini pages" tool (upper left menu) and the "transitions" options in that tool (available from a small floating menu when you click a minipage in the wix editor) and also text editing color and shadow effects (available when you click the text in the editor).

After a few days of playing with wix, especially if you try out the hundreds of working examples at wix which you can edit to your liking, you will get very good at making flash widgets and flash pages with wix.

My only complaint about wix is that the actual files are not in flash, they are in xml. They do use flash, but the way wix encodes the widgets and pages you create with the wix editor, you cannot simply access the wix flash file you create, and this is definitely intentional on their part. Since they are providing their services free to many people who seldom or never upgrade (I upgraded for one month before once to test the feel of no ads on my widgets) they don't intend to provide the free users with any flash creations which can then be saved to disk and edited to remove the built-in wix advertisements on every wix creation then used outside of the wix website. To remove their ads you must pay them, and they make sure of that by encoding their creations carefully. : )

Still... if you can overlook the ads without it bothering you, you do get a free flash creation you can use online, except it is actually in xml format (which is why the URL doesn't end in ".swf" and there are no ".swf" format URL's in the page source either, except the ones for the wix viewer frame with the ads on it and the adobe url for flash version updates) and will display their ads unless you pay to remove them.

I do like though that you can publish a wix creation at wix or embed it anywhere online using their embed code, then if you want to change anything anytime you can edit the saved version and it automatically updates every online version worldwide, and that is also free! : )

For now I have been sitting all evening with my pupils work and need som rest and surfed into 3Dartist.

I think this logo is much better than the one with the girl. I like it. Maybee it need something to tell the wiever that its for 3Dcomputing.

I hope I'am not to tiresome of my small complaining of your work. As a teacher I have the opinion that positive critisism is important to evolve. And I hope you all do it with my future work also.

Come on folks... let's get a bunch of logo and entry page submissions here, the more the better seriously.

You never know what little nuance of design you may add which could spark a whole series of additional spin-offs from others here, this is not about competition at all, it is about pulling our ("artistic") talents together toward a common ("united") goal, so please do make an entry no matter how you feel others may react to it OK?

Let's all have some fun with this and accomplish something important together, our way of saying "thanks" to those who work hard and pay to make this site available to us all!

A page that can be modified monthly but still let the user know he is at U3DA.

Made in WIX but I think that will be better as a PHP (If anyone can do it on PHP).
The front page show the last most important things of the moment (I just choose it random...) you can click on the news!
Gallery don't have any function but is to show that we would have some kind of gallery at our first page to show guests that we ROCKZ

FAQ is a link to FAQ

Features is to show what we are, I just write a fast text to fill the page, of course will not be that

I like the "current events" section on Leon's front page. (MMC extended etc.) That would provide quick updates about the main activities for current members and new visitors would see a sample of things that happen here.

Wix is fun to work with and super powerful huh? Fairly easy to get used to fast also!

They are good about providing about 200 Template examples of all kinds which are completely editable and they update the templates weekly it seems.

I agree on your use of that current events animated multi-page mini-page widget, that is a great touch. It will require maintenance periodically to add in or replace items but all it takes to update is changing the original in your account and hitting "save" and it automatically updates every online version of the widget worldwide, which is nice to know if you start making widgets for comments or gifts and spread them all over the web, lol.

Fun stuff!

Keep the new Logo and Front Page Entries coming folks, that one sparked a flood of new good ideas and the more the merrier!

3dvisuals dude, yeah! It's a wonderful tool, very powerful and simple to learn. When I found sometime I'll improve the Front Page. We would just maintenance one time per week or when something big is ongoing. I'll see what I can do to improve the page, besides members can post their ideas and I do it on WIX. I'm using Steinie's logo just because he gets a black version that combines with the background.

Turns out the model wasn't quite as heavy as I thought, heavy but not that heavy, it is shared space usable and looks mighty impressive towering in front of an avatar is Scratch Space on the Froo Server where I just placed it in fact!

Click through on the image below a couple times, or then again, go see it live in Froospace at the Scratch Space Portal : )

Mabee I'm to finical.

I found the globe with the net around a very good idéa. We are a global community which have computer 3D i common. I also paints in oil colours and when I ses the logo I'm thinking of a painter in the old fashion with brushes and canvas. Maybee something that indicates that's it's about computer 3D painting.
