First a statement I made on a thread about being quiet around here about a year ago...

OK, so the question is am I back to 3D with a vengence or did the dream work out?

Well, I still use trueSpace at work even in the last couple of months! But home, that's another thing...

The dream was to be a SF writer . I just got my first short story accepted by a online SF and Fantasy magazine. This is still a small step as its not professional magazine, but it means I have an objective external check on my progress. A professional sale may still be some way off. The advantage of the magazine been free, is that when it is published (October, I believe) I can leave a link and you can download, if you want

In terms of professional sales, I was just looking through my old British SF magazine issues in the cellar and I discovered the first published story by Stephen Baxter, a well known UK SF author. In the bio at the end of the story he says if they had rejected it, it would be his 482nd rejection. So, persistence pays.

I was going to create an author website using iSpace, and I was wondering if anybody round here has it and is even using it?

You might want to write a short story for free and submit it to Finis. He is looking for content for his online Magazine he is developing.

May be visiting tech section next as trueSpace is a little unstable, but Vue is unusable. Open GL issue with my ATI graphics card. Hope It's just drivers and not a new card!

I run vue infinite latest version with a ati fire pro, it runs like a dream.
before i had a ati hd 5870 2 gig that had probs with the open GL but vue was still ok to use
i even one a comp with that card.
i still have the hd ati card if someone wants it pm me.

Its the last story in the current (October) downloadable PDF magazine, I am writing under the pen name C. John Arthur.

The big surprise is that they used my artwork (trueSpace) as the front cover . The first time I knew about it was when I saw the magazine published. So it was a great bonus and makes it more relevant for this forum too!


Disclaimer: This is a specifically Christian SF and Fantasy magazine, though in their guide for authors, besides the PG level, it states that stories have to be either Christian based or religiously neutral. If you look at the other stories there are several without a specific religious bent.

I am now working hard to get a story ready for an anthology. The editor liked my story pitch, so it will get a fair read, even if it isn't finally published.

My author website is still not developed, but I have started a blog which has as its remit the interface between science an science fiction.

Must be a record!

A Finish artist has suggested to me to try and combine my Art and stories. The art would be a combination of watercolours and 3D. This would at least give me an excuse to continue with 3D...not that I need one

The link to my first published story died, I have now amended it so it works (see above)

Secondly, I now have another story accepted for publication in an anthology.

More details will follow because its accepted conditional on editing and one thing that might change is the story title.

This I get paid a small sum for upfront, but with a % of the royalites if it sells.

The need for an active trueSpace/iSpace inspired author website gets greater...

I didn't have anything to do with the cover, though it does look like it was done in a 3D program

Don't mind me saying by this, and you probly don't know me... But also, the crowd seems to like horror. Stephen King has written some scifi-horrors.

Congrats with writing, any publishing with writting is a success. I tried writting back years ago during my teen-phase.
Where every drop of water splashes into emotional rifts--- but noone seems to like that

All I know that you can do quality illustrations for novel an write... That's important, Especially if you self publish.

An agent is someway off for me...they are only interested in completed novel manuscripts
