Bunni Vax

Post by nigec »

Inspired from the bunny vac in Wallace n Gromit- CURSE OF THE WERE RABBIT.. i've seen it 5 times this week with my grandson

Its modeled in Sketchup, it actually started out as trying to do a bent flexy ducting pipe and I got carried away  its nothing like the one in W&G
I'm calling it "finished" because there is some problems that require a big rethink and would mean changing to much

Look good but repeating patterns of stones on the wall are too visible. The texture should be larger in order to cover the wall without repetition. Good work.

Thanks Marcel;
Yeah I agree about the wall, it was a case of modeling it then realising I didn't have a scene to put it in, in the film its on the back of a van with a huge lawn and mansion or in a dark cellar.. i took the latter lol

Uau great!

I agree with Marcel, but in the first vision it looks perfectly, just after some detailed analysis you see those things

Thanks leonregis. The actual machine isn't bad at all, well nothing that can't be hidden by turning it a little bit lol, it should of had a lot more rivets, specially the pipe to the floor.
I'm just trying to get my head around Sketchup by doing objects that are interesting :D

I did another render but the sky was to bright compared to the machine and I wasn't happy with the glass reflection so I stopped the render, it does have instance grass.. a very scary amount of it

It seem the render of the sky through the glass don't appear. what is the render engine? Maybe a problem of setting.

It was Thea and I used the wrong glass, I should of used the thin glass, the glass in the picture is usually used with bottles and drinks glasses, so I think there was to much glare from the back.

Do you use Vray Marcel? I have Vray for Sketchup 6 and I seem sto have issues with glass, I seem to remeber TS having a problem, do you know what it was?

I don't know. i think it was a problem of reflexion with the fresnel. The render was very dark. not sure. Ask prodigy. he know vray better than me.

Your second picture looks much better.
The hill is visible through the glass, only the sky you can not see.
Sometimes in the real world you can have the same effect if you
look against a bright light.

Very nice modeling on this machine. The first render I think the lighting is way too flat. And in the second render I find the sky distracting from the machine, and the lighting on the objects appear to be on an overcast day, but the sky is bright and colorful morning. Keep up the great work :)
