my profession as a still photographer lets me wonder through the world of photoshop frenzy pretty often.
I stumbled over a great amount of Photoshop actions the other day after coming home from the holiday with some pix in hand that needed some boosting
and i found masses of color actions on deviant art like these pretty awsome color tweaks.

Quite frankly the most render engines dont have a great amount of different look from one to the other sometimes ie between Kerkythea and Thea
on the same scene there is more or less just a great amount of speed difference rather then a difference in result of your work.
What can realy make a difference are some of these postpro actions that you can also use on animations.
In case of animations you just have to render in picture sequences and use the photoshop on the whole folder automatically with the right action sellected.
You can then run it through something like Bivi to make an avi file out of it.
Actions can make a bigger difference then your renderer.
This sample file from Vue that comes with soft looks pretty different when you run it through an action.
You can even make 600 series polas or 600 series faded polas with the pola processor from the site.
basically the sky is the limit for free..

and you can make your own for use on your artwork.
most people .. and i look at hundreds of pieces of work on 3d sites dont think about the huge possibilities in PP...

sure post process is very important for artists. What i like is to use filter with alpha mask created with a z render to change the look of a 3d render. Or create different 3d render with different lighting then combine them in postprocess. i created this month movies with a hd video camera to do advertising for tv. I used truespace to change the sky, the perspective and add 3d object on the movie. Combine photo, video and 3d are very interesting to do.

Yes exactly ! For many people a final render is the end result but its worth a look if it can be the beginning of even more... just wanted to get that back into mind

Bottom is a gum print process action.....

What you do in postpro can be saved for your other work so that its just a one click process to use over again even on sequences and animtions......

Nice collection of actions. I enjoy playing around with my 3D as well as my photography, while I prefer my own techniques, I always enjoy using others to learn from and build upon.
