Re: baking
I heard something like Thea render will do that. also Modo does it but thats a full app. !
Giles is good for that but you need some time to get used to it....
The new versions of Vue inf can also do that!

Re: baking
when you say, Thea, are you referring to: Kerkythea? I think you are, just want to make sure!

Re: baking
Thea is the next generation version of Kerkythea, unfortunately it wont be free.. well its a ground up build as a stand alone app or plugin.. the list of "stuff" it is set to do should put it on the same level as the big boys but at a lesser price

Re: baking
pixie looks interesting as it's open source plus the gallery looks pretty good... i've gotten the hang of giles (finally), but will take a look at pixie.

Re: baking
3delight supports it as well, but it's not built in to Dribble.
Blender can do this, too. It's one of the top requests that I had for truespace while it still lived, I don't think I ever got a response from Caligari.

Re: baking
i have blender and have played with it, just not a fan of it... maybe when they release 2.5... besides, i like to be aware of many tools out there and play with them to compare workflow, pipelines, etc.
thx!

Re: baking
Unfortunately, Blender isn't really one of those programs you can just play with, you've got to go in boots and all. So I don't blame you for looking for an easier option.
