Discuss the Idea Pool Challenge (link) here.

To participate first find a theme or idea you like in the Idea Thread (link) or create your own and add it to the thread. Then create your entry based on that theme or idea.

This one is interesting. Almost anything goes!

Yes, plenty of flexibility to do what you want and it can enrich the idea thread.

If anyone picks or invents a theme/idea that requires more than one person to work on the entry, for example the teamwork or secret story themes, it is up to you to recruit the other people. Also, there can be exceptions when rules conflict with a theme/idea. For example, a theme might require reusing your old models and forbid making new ones which conflicts with the requirement to model the main objects.

JamesMC adds imagination and comedy. Dragneye ... couldn't you have some ambition and try something challenging?

You can do whatever you want to as long as it is in the Idea Thread or you add your idea to the thread yet there are only two contestants?

The contest ends on August 27, 2018 at midnight in your location.

The poll will start on Aug. 28 unless James wins be default. If anyone is working on an entry ask for an extension or get it done or enter what you have tomorrow. Dragneye?

damnit, another month just passed by... I have nothing, i can only put something from past, which i did and would be able to redo in one week for it being a fair competition... :(
Once ! i will join tho... again. Time is too fast for me.

If Dragneye and JamesMC authorize it we can extend the contest for a week so Bitkar can do his entry. Of course everyone could use that time to do or continue working on entries too.

Bitkar, remember it has to be based on an idea or theme from the Idea Thread. I think there is one for "finish an unfinished project" but you can add an idea to the thread too.

What say you Dragneye and JamesMC? Extend by a week or poll on the 28th?

well, ... all i did was that i made the entry to the idea pool :) so that part is done.

I can adapt something from my past job (i made it, but wasnt used in the end). I would just update the model, maybe change materials and render it with vray. But i cannot guarantee i will be able to get some free time to make brand new thing made from scratch.

I'll start the poll shortly. Bitkar, you'll have time whenever and there's always a challenge to enter.

I have not voted yet and am in a quandary of inspiration.

I love Frazetta's work but if your going to use it in 3D then make it look like 3D. Please rotate just slightly so we feel like it is 3D. You would get my vote in a second. Fantastic 2D but is it 3D? (I know it is 3D only because I saw the modeling) but not in the finale.
Paper condoms...say no more! The whole scene reminds me of dripping clocks. Salvador Dali would be proud!

So, originally was doin' a video where the models fade in as overlay on the painting. (I liked the look of the fading in) Short on time so did a pic instead.
To be pure, didn't like the unfinished nature of what I was presenting; was still adding the parts and hardly sculpted them so i offered a end of clip pic.

Dragneye, you should keep working on that and finish it. A video is a good idea to show it is 3D. Your model looks good so far. As a project beyond the challenge and without time limits I'd suggest texturing the model normally rather than projecting the painting onto it.
