Re: No Workspace Renderer is installed
The Workspace doesn't have a standard render, you need to buy it or find a free one. However you can use the renderer of Modelside the Lightworks that is relative good!

Re: No Workspace Renderer is installed
Q: I press the render button but I just get a message saying that there is no offline renderer installed. Why?
A: There are two render buttons: one for the Workspace Side and one for the Model Side. The Workspace render button will only work if you have V-Ray installed (purchased separately). You can render with LightWorks or VirtuaLight from the Model Side by using the render button on the Model side.
Note: There are separate tools for each Side (Workspace and Model). Some of these tools look and work similarly---but they work only with their respective Side. If you are on the Model Side, you must use the Model Side tools. If you are on the Workspace Side, you must use the Workspace Side tools.
You might want to check out our FAQ here:

Re: No Workspace Renderer is installed
Here you find all help to install YafaRay: http://www.yafaray4ts.org/help/help.html"
Yes, but the difference is not that you are rendering in the Workspace but because you are using a different render, most of workspace renders are photorealistic, and if you know how to use you can reach really good reasults. Anyway Lightworks is the better render to start at TS, because he is easy to learn and fast to render, of course you can reach good results with lightworks.

Re: No Workspace Renderer is installed
rumpel123, you didn't read the FAQ as I suggested or you would not have asked that
last question. I still suggest reading the FAQ first even if you don't understand most of
it, a lot of the answers will get you on track. You are working with TWO programs combined
and that is why it is so confusing for new users. Everyone here will gladly get you going if
you actually read the stuff we post.

Re: No Workspace Renderer is installed
I really like yafaray!
I'm learning it, and if you know/try how to use you will reach really good results, Jack Edwards and Delé developed the plugin that brings the Yafaray for TS when VRay gets out of market and the YafaraytS goal is provide a good photorealistic render to others that didn't bought VRay (including me)
I know that the UI isn't friendly, but if you see some of what it can do, well, you will want to learn how to use.

Re: No Workspace Renderer is installed
When I saw the first version of TS7 with these both sides, I knew it was an error. When you need to do a totally different car, you don't begin by add a new motor and keep the old motor because the wheels can't support the new motor. you do a new car or not. The second error is the lack of an integrated render engine in the workspace. I think nobody new users will use TS if they want to add RsObjects and script to have a soft "ready to use". Most of "users for fun" or artists are not programmers. New user don't see the interest to model with TS if they need to use another soft for the render (with his modeler tools, I don't speak about only a render engine). It is a lack of time for new users.rumpel123 wrote:i think i resign. Who think this rendering software ist something like usability?

Only old users can know why TS is useful.

Re: No Workspace Renderer is installed
Yafaray works the same way even in blender now (as an external renderer). This is the norm, even in apps like 3dstdio.i think i resign. Who think this rendering software ist something like usability?

If you are talking about the old and new truespace's being wedged together, well this is what killed the app, unfortunately. The new truespace was just too weird to be considered a successor, or even an upgrade, to the old one. It should have been developed as a separate entity and only released when it was ready, but that's history now.
As Marcel said the bridge is less confusing for existing users, and it does have it's benefits imo, but it is a major turn off for new users. I don't mind, some of the best things in truespace have occurred (or I've discovered) since it was officially canned, I'll be using it for some time yet.
Yafaray is an excellent rendering option btw, it's really the only open source/ non-commercial renderer I've used that I like, TS users are lucky to have access to it.
