Most of us don't celebrate Halloween where I live, despite that the tradesmen tries to promote it each year.
Instead we celebrate something we call "Allhelgona helgen" which translates to somethings like "All saints holiday". It is actually a day with some roots in the pre christian tradition that was carried over and incorporated in the Catholic and later protestant church.

The traditional celebration of this is to light candles on the graves as my picture here illustrate.
It can be quite beautiful even for persons who isn't directly religious like myself.

Here we just do nothing, 2 november is Dead's day or something like that (I don't know how to traduce properly) so 31 is a calm day, some years ago a "School to learn English" tried to install halloween here but didn't worked... and she (director) is fat now

We have the "Allhelgona helgen". For a time the businessmen has tried to have the swedes to celebrate Hallowen (I think for selling stuff). But now the celebration of Hallowen has almost dissapeard and thats good. I think to put the candle on the graves is good thing. To remember your good friends and relatives who has passed away. It's a day reflection of the god things about the dead friends and the memories you have in your heart about these people. For me a graveyard is not a horror place I think about all the caring, loving and nice people who are burried there. The horror are that they are dead.
