YafaraytS in Scene
I want to use YafaraytS renderer in my scene, I think that will stay very nice, but I don't know much how to use and will need help, if someone could help me I'll be very grateful.
It will be my first render with YR so I'm not expecting all capacity of yafa... In few moments I post the scene and show what I want..
Thanks

Re: YafaraytS in Scene
I played with The TS version a little but had my own issues with it.
I beleive they give you a material library to start with.

Re: YafaraytS in Scene
Explaining the screen above...
1- Silver color metal, much reflect and a refracted reflect.
2- Diffuse black plastic, with some bumb maps to make a realistic look of plastic.
2- Second option, brilliant black plastic, something reflective but less than the metal (of course).
3- Glass, very realistic and with a little of refraction, inside that we can encounter a black tint (don't know how to create)
4- The same diffuse black plastic of 2- but with a little distinct for don't look the same.
5- Shining golden metal, something like copper but more reflective.
6- Candle wax, I don't know how to create it.
7- Textured old paper, I'm put an image texture, just it.
8- I forgot put it there but it's the table... Just diffuse wood!
I'll try to make it in lightworks to show you, but the main project it's make it on yafaray and I don't know really nothing a tutorial could fit well, or some step by step post... If nobody helps me okay... I render in lightworks
It's for SMC so I hope nobody care in helping an adversary
Thanks in Advance

Re: YafaraytS in Scene
Rendered in light works, in a fast works, of course it's not ready, just to show what I want in Yafaray... and want some help too
In that scene I tried some fire light effects coming from that candle... It's without SDS and with adaptive antialising so thats the why of faceted objects.

Re: YafaraytS in Scene
Here is almost the same scene but made in YafaraytS4... The metals looks very good, glass looks like a mirror, the plastic of the pen and the glass cover needs some bump map to make a realistic plastic view like in my lightworks render, the paper will need a texture that I'll give the link, the table I need a wood texture, and Karthogen could you give me your tint settings? Please man, I want to make that black...
Could you pass to me how to do it, or the settings... I don't know how you will do it but please.
Any help and tip will be welcome!
Feedback: I think that YafaraytS UI not friendly >< but if I learn how to use will be amazing!!! I just don't know how to make the things, without that slide bars (like in Lightworks) things get difficult...
Thanks in Advance

Re: YafaraytS in Scene
Can I post the scene here to anyone that want download... Will be more easy to help with my scene in your hands, right? It's organized so I think will be easier to help. I don't want the result, but the process this is a learning, Don't give the fish, teach how to fish!

Re: YafaraytS in Scene
I do not have access to TS while at work, But I can remember a lot of the settings/setup that could still guide you through some of your scene. just have to be specific in what you are looking for.
On thing I noticed was that glass that looked like a Mirror. That could be in your IOR setting and also your Ray depth, if the Ray depth is not large enough to base through the glass it becomes a different material all together,

Re: YafaraytS in Scene
Good Karthogen, I'll ask some things... Can you help me better after work?
I want that you explain to me the yafaray system, what does the changes like, specular, diffuse, reflectance, etc.. it exist in YR?
YR have more materials? I have the shiny, coated glossy, glossy, light and glass...
Karthogen could you pass to me the configurations of the tint used in the SMC 49?
Any tip to improve the quality of YR?
I'm posting three images, one it's the YR Setup, other the Shiny material screen and the Glossy... Explain most that you can (most important things) of the images...

Re: YafaraytS in Scene
I am still a little confused by what you mean by Tint?
Here is the best resource I have found for explaining all of that.
This is the TS resource for an explanation of the feilds on the menu.
http://www.yafaray4ts.org/help/materials_help.html"
This gives a lot more detail and some pictures to go with it, but the settings are for Blender.
http://www.yafaray.org/documentation/us ... atsettings"
A combination of those two pages should give you a wealth of knowledge on the material settings and what each one does.
The best thing to do, is to setup a small scene, Sphere, cube, and maybe a wall. then just start adding the default materials to each on to see what you get.

Re: YafaraytS in Scene
hmmm.. Thanks for the info Kart (can I call you Kart?), I think that I'll need to learn first and it will takes time, so for this SMC I'll not use Yafaray
Thanks Karthogen you have been a lot useful and solidarity these days
Tint: Dye, something that paint colors.
Sorry, my english it's bad
Many Thanks
Edit: Seems that Yafaray don't have a bump map like lightworks (that you choose scale, amplitude, etc) anyway it's a wonderful tool I'll try learning it next weeks...
