Wascom tablet

Hi has anyone here got a wascom tablet.I have a cheap tablet from trust
and i was wondering how are the others compaired to this.i ask this because every tut i whatch
on z brush they say its like night and day compaired to a mouse.

Yes i got one and the answer is you got to get used to using it !
Not every 3d program is easy to use with it though.
moi 3d was built for use with it....
Zbrush works very well with it too !

Thanks Rayman, I have been using my cheap one with zbrush but i noticed its
not so smooth to use, it jumps about now and again. how is the wascom?

Yes,
painting textures on models - or even doing it in 2D programs - can not be done properly with the mouse. I have one as well, and agree with RAYMAN: With some exercise, you can get required skills to use it. If you like to draw or paint by hand (2D traditional) You will get it in no time.

Wacom is reference under these devices. I have an older model of wacom (Intuos3) and I appreciate good feeling/feedback which it's pens provide. This was most frustrating by another products. If you have some programmable buttons and enough dimensioned works area, you should be satisfied in any case. I had also never sort of jumps with my tablet.

if you mean the same as I do.. i have wacom cintiq at work... pretty awesome! (but its not wascom, i dont know wascom, only wacom, if its the same)

Well lets put it that way if you cant get used to a wacom tab you wont get used to any of them
but it realy depends more on the application your using it for...
sometimes its great but sometimes the mouse feels better... its question of feeling..

I only use a tablet for 2d work at the moment... I plan on trying it out in 3dcoat for paining textures.

I use a wacom bamboo tablet... small but it has consistency in operation that my other tablet did not have... also... can find drivers if you lose the disk.... lolz

Yup, even for tablets are newest drivers very important.

I use another settings for 3DCoat and another for CorelPainter. I had a problem that my tablet liked to reset all settings sometimes. But now, after driver update this issue is gone.

That might be a zbrush bug. There are some video tutorials I watched a couple of years ago and the display would jump to weird locations every now and then. The teacher was using a wacom tablet. If you mean that the brush itself is jumping around then that's something else entirely.

I was using a cheap Chinese knockoff 10 years back, it was decent, but when it started to go bad after 2 years, I purchased a Wacom Intous 2. I still have the same tablet, it works and for some reason refuses to die no matter what foolish thing I do to it :) 8 years of service and still going.

Me too, really unbeatable tool :D just that I need a size increase.
Painting at objects in 3DCoat with a touch sensitive pen or a mouse is a remarkable difference.
