My Christmas Break So Far

Post by froo »

Monday:
Took car into shop. $1255 in repairs: leaking power steering system - 3 hoses. Also replaced rack and pinion hardware.
Used 20% Off coupon, shaved off $250. Employee looked at me funny. Ho Ho Ho Bah Humbug. :bananaclaus:

Tuesday: Some other stressful crap; ah... took back Christmas gifts; too expensive. Also took back liquor... argh! :D

Wednesday AM: Headed off to the chiropractor in the wife's car. Forgot something so parked car in street. Came back,
Car wouldn't start. Wife and I tried pushing car to side of road. It seemed like parking brake was on. Turns out, I was pushing backward, she was pushing forward. Must work on communication. Hurt lower back slightly but felt good at the same time. Guess I needed that. Called tow truck, they got it working. Car was in serious need of a tune up. Battery was also dead. Used lots of coupons, saved $50.

Thursday: Got some food. Cats were disgruntled about fact they were out of food. Cats were appeased by 11:30 PM.

Friday, Christmas Eve: chillin, typing this, drinkin good coffee. Made it.

Merry Christmas everyone! :D

I'm sitting here drinking my java and reading the gut wrenching financial woes of Froo
while I enter the receipts of Christmas gifts into Quicken... how come bank numbers always go
down?... :)
I plan on a good dinner with relatives, a fine bottle of beer (Warsteiner Dunken sounds good), and
last minute wrappings for the kids before I get my two hours of sleep. (Then all hell breaks loose)

Merry Christmas to you too Jason and the rest of the friendly bunch who share our little space here.

Maybe for Christmas someone will give you a nice Avatar to use...

Well bank numbers actually go UP if you ignore that little dash (-) in front of them!

Merry Christmas everyone!

I'm attempting to make a gluten free pecan pie. My sister can't have gluten. The crust is the hard part. The family will gather at her house today.

Wow That's a hell of a Christmas Froo. Glad you made it through. Try to enjoy the day. I worked Christmas eve and missed most of our Christmas party :( But it was ok. I was there for appetizers and pressies at the beginning and got home in time for some beer at the end. I only had to work for 4 hours. Luckily no financial woes this Christmas though like yours. What a hell of a time for car repairs, sorry bro :( I did get myself a new bass guitar for Christmas, a blueburst g&l tribute l2000. It's worth 700 but got it for 400. I now call my guitar dealer Santa :)

Dude, never bring back the booze lol.

Well, a merry Christmas day to all :)

Oh my gosh!! If you ever go to a Christmas party and they have a dessert called
"Death by Chocolate" ...and you never want to see your feet again...
I think I ate it all. :bananadevil: :worship: :bananaclaus:

I hear ya Frog! :bananacheers:

mmmm Death By Chocolate! That sounds gooooood! haha

EDIT:
Made 2 French bread loaves last night. I was a bit worried; they rose fine in the bread machine but after rolling and placing in the bread pans (french loaf shaped), they did not appear to rise. When in the oven I tested the crust; it felt like a stiff brick. But when I took it out and starting cutting they were really good. I got some sesame seeds really cheap earlier so I used them on one of the loaves. Turned out good. There's a 'Safeway' nearby that is the 'graveyard depot' - all the other Safeways in the area take their stock they don't want to sell anymore and send them to this Safeway. There is a small section where they put this stuff; it's not expired, it's fine. A box may be dented, for example. So what? :D I Think I got these seeds for $2. Same for some Vanilla beans. Also got a boatload of spices a few months ago.

Ok! Now to learn how to make a nice prime rib roast!

Even though we paid out the wazoo for car repairs we were expecting it. Both cars really needed it. Mine still needs a tune up.

Merry Christmas everyone! :D

Ouch v3rd3! Hang in there!

We had a nice Christmas nonetheless. Made some nice food, had some nice much-lower-cost presents.
Now time to work out! :D

Christmas family activities went well. Most couldn't afford to give many presents. I couldn't give any at all. Not about presents of course but I enjoy shopping for them and wrapping them and giving them and I think others do to. Family gathering, good food, all went well. I didn't and don't feel well, a cold starting I think, but not enough to spoil the fun.

Yep; that is what it is all about Finis; not about spending money but spending time with family and friends.
Hope you get to feeling better soon!
