Blender Import/Export of rigs - how???????!??!?!?!?!?!??!?!?
ARGHEAAHRAHRARHGHGHAGHGHA
I have 56 hours to deliver, and I haven't even started animation! Decided to do this project in Blender, so far so good. Viewport is nice with the realtime DOF and SSAO, import image to plane is a huge time saver. Rigging is fairly straightforward. Animation nodes is an awesome addon. Scene management is cool, and so far... the UI and working it isn't toooooo hard to learn.
But HOW ON EARTH DO YOU APPEND OR SAVE OR EXPORT OR IMPORT RIGGED CHARACTERS!??!?!?!??!?!?
Gosh I miss the simplification of encapsulated nodes you can export and import through scenes in TS, or the Model that houses all clips/rigs/models and shaders into one object you can export then reference later with Softimage... What on earth is this Blender logic!?!?!?
.....
Ok, I feel better.

Another peeve....
WHY ON EARTH DO YOU HAVE TO SHIFT+G ... then sift through a bunch of options - to select the group and hierachy!?!?!?? Why isn't selecting a hierachy the default option when you hit/select the parent?!? Can't I just toggle the hierachy with arrow keys like every other software out there!??!?!?

Gah, now you can't click and drag objects in the outliner to create new hierachies (Softimage is awesome for that).

Ok, solved...
Make a nearly empty scene with JUST the rig (nothing else just to emphasise), and then save that *.blend file, and use the append option to import ALL the objects to where you need.
So weird.

Thanks Pugman! I played with that baboon you sent me before, I can say yours was the first time I even had a look at the rigging in Blender! I should look those tutorials up. They are on Blender Cookie right?

I posted a new thread here about Blender rigs here on General Discussions !" What only a few here know is that you can mix Blender and Truespace animations
if you host them in Vue via Collada ! It works !!! Can also bemixed with Poser and Daz files ! I inserted a Gif into the thread!
With the newest version also anim style or cell shaded type..
Here is the Animation of a Vue landscape sample and a Blender for artists sample I found in the net !
Tap onto the Picture for the Motion !!

Shift drag in the outliner now creates new parenting trees. Still don't know how to drag out of parent hierachies, but now I know you CAN use the outliner to creat hierachy. Good.

No idea. I'm learning on the 2.76 build.
One thing I am finding to be a huge handicap, and where Softimage truely excelled (you have a toggle where you can more parents without affecting children). I do not know where to find this in blender without having to unparent, then reparent for such an action.
A large slow down.....
