Interesting but false! Numbers are not arabic (?). These numbers are a native of India where arabs lived. The indians invented the zero. Indian zero mean infinity. arab zero mean nothing. Give value to something that does not exist or undefinable has changed the math. Zero is a symbol that changes the meaning of the figure to his left. 10 mean that the first series of 9 digits is exceeded, then 9+1 is the next. Former Arabic reads from right to left: we first see a zero: the value of the next number (1) indicates not a number but how many series of numbers. when the number of series exceeds 9, it just added another zero. Yes you have right the numbers are invented in India about 400 BC and the arabian people adopted them and brought them to Europe. But is were in Europe the arabic numbers changed to the digits we know today. The numbers used by the arabs today are very differnet from ours. The arabic digit 5 are written like our 0. And I think the arabic 7 arelike ours 9.
