I'm new, I use TrueSpace and love it, sort of...

Post by MikomDude »

Hello, I'm new to this forum and I want to make a good first impression (even though I might have screwed that op with the name of this post). Anyway, I've been using TrueSpace for about a year now and I could really use some good advice on how to proceed. I already use TS for a game I'm developing but any new skills and improvements of the ones I have now are always welcome.
Here is a link to my website: http://vitriol3d.weebly.com/" It has renders of most of my models, good and bad. Some useful criticism is always good.

I hope to become an active member of this forum since there aren't that many other forums with TrueSpace users around.
I'm happy to be here :)

PS. is the rank system on this forum based upon Battlestar Galactica?

Welcome to the Forums! There are quite a few users here who create games with trueSpace.
I am sure they'll join your discussions soon. Hey we need active members!
I think Prodigy has set up the ranking system based on the Uruguay Navy.

Your "ESAD Sentinel Prime" was my favorite. :)

Hey, thanks :) That was a quick response. Actually I don't use TrueSpace itself for my game but I do create the models in TrueSpace. It will be nice to hear from all of you what you use TrueSpace for.

welcome to the forums Mikomdude!
I make plugins for trueSpace. Not much modelling per se for me for quite some time.
Currently working on a NURBS plugin. Taking awhile to get it done!

Cool! I love plugins, they always make life easier. Of course making one can't be that easy. I hope I'll get a chance to try it some day. Also, feel free to ad me as a friend. :)

welcome Mikomdude.
i don't create game. Only design and animation. You can see my work here:
viewforum.php?f=28
Also you can ask Prodigy if you want an artist folder to put your work inside.

Hey.
I saw your cool BOT animation already before I joined the forum, it's so awesome. I hope I will be able to make that kind of advanced animations some day.
Also, I'll ask Prodigy about the artist-folder, it will be nice to have a place to put my models so everyone can see. (my website doesn't get that many visitors)

Welcome Mikondude.

I'm impressed what you have done with TS for only one year. For myself I'm not so active in modelling nowadays. There are other things that occupies my time for the moment. Despite this enjoy the conversation with the members in this forum and give som positive comments on the works people are doing.

I wan't to see more of your progress so keep on posting!!!

Thank you, I'll post my next creations here on the forum. I'm currently a bit busy myself but I hope that I'll get back to modeling soon again.

Yes, I've recently looked at these. They are very useful indeed, I'm still going through all of them but I got the site bookmarked ;)

Welcome MikomDude.

I use TS as a hobby. I'll probably migrate to other programs like Blender since TS is no longer in production but I'll certainly keep using it for many things it does well. Not much time to play with TS though.

Welcome Mikom!

This seems when I started on this forums, but unlike me you have tons of good works, I loved your works... I really think that you should look foward animation also.

You can look upon my work on my WIP section on Artists Folders and some posts on the Finished ArtWork.

Hope to more of you work along the time

TrueSpace is still a hobby for me as well, I haven't made up my mind yet about what I'm going to do. Games sound interesting since you can see your models interact with other models and animation is sort of the same only more controlled.
I've tried Blender myself and I never really figured it all out, it's a bit to complicated for me.

As is said, animation is definitively one of the things I'm interested in if I'm going to continue with 3d modeling. It's amazing to see what some of you have created with TrueSpace and I hope that one day I can do the same.
Since I'm a big fan of spacecraft, I really like your Mars mission project. Will you be making more models in the same style?
