Re: Zbrush 4R3
Yes for sure Z-Brush rocks! I am still learning the new tools from the last update. And some awesome tools they are
. Curves and new changes to the re mesh system its crazy not to mention micro fiber hair . But I still cant get my head around doing hard surface with Z brush but its probably time to learn.
I guess if they keep going you wont need much other than z-brush to model and render and who knows rigging and animation isn't to far fetched the expect from them in the near future.
3D buzz has some new free tutorials on Z-brush, Photoshop CS5, Character workflow using Maya,Z brush,Unity and also a beginners guide to Blender. Some nice stuff for free and downloadable.

Re: Zbrush 4R3
@ Pugman This update was released today. Typing as I download. It was my intention this week to focus on Z brush completely and get some good practice in but I am forced back into Unity3D for some more needed training . Back to ZB I am still using my mouse because I hate using my standard old tablet with a two monitor set up. It drives me crazy only using half the tablet for an app. And I hate changing my display settings and loosing all Icon organization when I go back.
I am planning on getting an LCD Tablet in the next few weeks. So I am hoping this will not be the same issue with that. But if it is then I will just set it up on my notebook and dedicate it to Z brush and my paint programs there. I can get another desk and set it up behind me so I can just spin around for Z-Brush
. And then get a red cape and become a superhero

Re: Zbrush 4R3
I'm not sure if i'm getting older, but i cant learn any new UI :S
I tried Modo No way..
I tried Zbrush.. Eough!! but Sculptris it's another thing.. i love it..
I tried Max, not for me..
Blender, still not working as i want and the UI its out of this world. LOL
And always is the same thing.. UI.
Zbrush models are amazing not sure if you can give any other use to them, but there's no other 3d app to give such realism.
I tried Zbrush with a cheap Genius tablet without problems.

Re: Zbrush 4R3
New software are eaters of polygons. But where are the designers? programmers rely solely on the power of the new cpu. Power which unfortunately turned out to support the bidding functions instead of being used to facilitate use. But it must be over forty years to realize. Young people have energy to spare.Prodigy wrote:I'm not sure if i'm getting older, but i cant learn any new UI :S.

Z brush is a good application that can be used for just about anything other than animation at this point. But I have the same problem, its so different from using edge loops, extruding and such. Maybe the hardest thing is that your view port is locked so when you navigate your rotating the model and not orbiting the camera around a 3d environment. Its hard to get used to but I am determined to do it. One thing for sure is that with the newer tools added it has a better feel than it. It seems to be more like Sculptris except with all the older Z brush tools added to it. Am sure I will always need a standard modeling app like TS or hexagon and silo. Well I hope its worth my time to learn anyway.

Re: Zbrush 4R3
Good idea there. I usually model the base polygon mesh in a program strong in that, then make fine details or displacement maps/normal maps/textures and bump maps from the other programs like Sculptris or Mudbox or if I'd learn Zbrush, probably there.
