Feb MMC "This Place is the Pits"

Post by Steinie »

Rayman needs entries folks! I hope others decide to join too.

I'm beginning to wonder if some of you are only talented enough to
use an "etch a sketch"... :bananadevil: :P

"This Place is the Pits"
1) A cube is created with 13x13x13 segments. Cube is copied, reduced in size until there are 5 layers.
Boolean Union all five layers into one cube.
2) Turn a sphere into a blob using the Soft Paint tool
3) Apply a planer map to all sides of the cube then texture. Another texture is applied to the blob.
Resize blob so that it protrudes outside cube to create windows, doors, nook and crannies.
4) Boolean subtract blob from cube.
5) Blob texture is now the wall texture inside the cave.

Thank you guys!
Still working on the "Man" Cave...
One level of SDS and then I shaped the topography using the
Soft Paint tool.
Three realtime renderings, one wire, one looking in cave from below and
finally a test using infinite and spot lighting.

I like the cave 4 WIP, the one with the green grass and rock beneath.

Perhaps it reminds me of my golfing days?

This Dino's love is a slab of meat, rare. ;)

Box modeling a Dino head. I had to cut off the neck so that nothing is outside the
box as per rules of this Challenge.
The teeth are nothing but cones, lots of bad breath cones.

Theuns,
I'm pretty sure I got the textures used in this scene here:
http://www.cgtextures.com/"

I have a few ideas of what comes next in this project but I'm not sure
which way I want to go yet.

one sphere for the eye.

This is the first version of the cave using VRay.
The second version is a workSpace realtime rendering.

I am glad you like it Mr. Bond! ;)
That is an idea I should have thought of Finis.

I liked certain elements in both renderings. So I rendered the Grunts with the
cave removed from the scene. I then placed them into the other scene.
Best of both worlds as they say.

Now that's a new technique. Several people here use multi-software but you have made a multi-renderer render!
