Just a vertex model test using Carrara

Post by FHembree »

Haven't posted in a while but I got movitated to try vertex modeler in Carrara. This was all done in carrara except for the wheel rims which were done in truespace. I have standard 32bit version of Carrara but not the Pro version, but I was able to download a beta version of 8.5 64 bit and decided to try to do some vertex modeling and rendering. Don't know how long I will be able to use the Pro 64 bit varsion bit after a lot of test rendering that were not very good I decided to remove all of the lights as a test and suddely got a result that I was happy with. Amazing how low lighting can hide a lot of problems in model. In standard lighting I just could not get the chrome trim to show up as chrome.

Excellent!

I dabble in Carrara Pro myself and it is a very capable software, but does have it quirks (like any application).

Nevertheless, I find myself returning to Carrara Pro time and again.

Sweet! I've not tried Carrara yet. Is it fairly easy to use?

Nice model! I love the design and what you did with the lighting, very pretty.
